Hive Recap 2023: Analyzing Achievements and Questionable Stats

avatar

Today I paid a visit to the hive recap website to see and analyze my progress throughout the just-concluded year 2023. To be honest, I achieved most of my set goals for the previous year, but I believe having a clear picture of how it all went will give me the zeal and enthusiasm to chase bigger goals this new year. While there, I had some eye-openers and even noticed some stats I'm certain aren't correct, and in this post today, I'll love to talk about them.

The first analysis and statistics you'll see immediately after you login to your account on the hive recap web page are the total number of posts and videos you publish throughout the previous year, and I realized I published a total of 443 posts and 13 videos throughout the year 2023. The reason I can't really question these stats is because I actually published a post every single day throughout the year 2023, and there are even some days I made two, so that is most likely correct.

Strolling down, I was shown that the total value I earned from all the posts I made last year was $4982, and to be honest, that's just ridiculous. Had I earned that much, I guess I should have had more Hive Power than what I earned last year, most especially given the fact that all my posts were fixed at 50% Hive Power and 50% HBD, so that should have been way more than what I had if those states were true.

Moving down further, I saw my top 3 favorite communities where I published a post last year, and I can't agree more with these stats because those were basically the communities I visited in the post. As you can see from the image below, hive learners came first, Leo Finance came second, and then the hive Ghana community.

Taking a further look into the financial growth and aspects of these statistics, I realized I had earned 4047 Hive Power throughout the year 2023 and, alongside that, 928 HBD. I seriously don't know how they came about these statistics, but, although the Hive Power is a little bit close, the HBD is far from what I had or earned.

Still on the financial assets of the recap, I was able to see my top 10 most rewarded posts, and I'm thrilled and excited by that, even though after going through it, I was later a little disappointed because most of them were earned in the first quarter of last year. After that, things just seemed to go south for my financial growth on the post, and that's possible why I didn't grow beyond how I did.

This aspect of the statistics really interests me, and it's the part where I get to see those who supported me the most with their votes throughout the previous year. On number one was my biggest supporter on the hive blockchain, Mr. D (neoxian) with $1668 worth of upvote, followed by Lazy-Panda with $572 worth of upvote, and Brofi with $371 worth of upvote. There were other top OGs that aided my growth last year, and I'm grateful to every single one of them.

The most notable and annoying aspect of this recap is the aspect on the card I downloaded that said I didn't power up anything throughout the previous year. It's annoying because I actually did very well in this aspect; in fact, I powered up 1 hive every single day last year, and that's not forgetting that I also participated in all 12 hive-powered months in 2023, so they stated that I had not kind of ridiculed my efforts, and I hope they work more on their effectiveness and stats.

The point of statistics is to get the right and accurate data, and when that can't be ascertained, then it'll be hard for people to believe most of the information presented, so I hope the team of hive hive recap will consider this and improve their documentation to ensure accurate information next year.

That's about it for now. I hope you had a good read. Do have a wonderful night's rest and stay blessed.

I have been struggling to find any active community and I mean people to interact with besides Threads, most communities seem to just have a token and people post content but when you look at the interaction there is barely comments, I guess could because of the low amount of users during this times, hope one day I can achieve those numbers btw, probably on the next market cycle 😅🤑
