History Is Speaking, But No One's Listening
It's a common saying that history tends to repeat itself when the people fail to learn from it, and if I'm being honest, I think we're heading towards another repetition of history, World War 3 to be precise, and all we're doing is watching it unfold, which is not just alarming but also disturbing. The recent event between Israel and Iran, where it has almost become a norm for us to wake up to news of how you've bombarded each other with missiles, in my opinion, is like I'm watching scenes from an old war documentary, but the reality is that it's happening right now, and it's disturbing seeing such unfold, making it obvious that we've certainly not learned from the damage the previous war left behind.
It's actually shameful that despite how technologically advanced we are, all we care for is to show superiority, power, and dominance over others. There are a lot of things that can be achieved and impossibilities that could be made possible with scientific research, but the weapon aspect is one we use in terrorizing one another to the point of destroying lives and properties that will take years to rebuild. And that's not forgetting the economic impacts it'll have on the world at large or the damage it'll inflict on our ecosystem. It's more or less like we've all forgotten that we don't have another planet other than Earth, and destroying it is more or less like destroying our homes. It won't cost anyone anything to swallow their pride and embrace peace for the good of everyone.
It's disheartening that despite the US president's attempts to intervene and calm things down by calling for a ceasefire, both parties involved went ahead to disregard the agreement and kept on sending missiles back and forth to each other's country, and if we're being truthful with ourselves, we'll agree that this alone is a sign of the echoes of the history of world war trying to repeat itself, because it all usually starts with regional conflict and failed peace talks, after which other world people will start picking sides, and such would lead to destruction we thought wouldn't repeat itself.
Via the documentaries I do watch, I learned the Second World War began due to the economic hardship the First World War left behind, making Germany under the dictatorship of Adolf Hitler attack Poland before France and Britain got involved, making the war expand. The end of the war left behind devastating ruins and impacts on the war at large, and that was what led to the creation of the United Nations, the division of Germany, and the like. Unfortunately, the peace treaty signed then seems to have been forgotten with what is upon us presently.
To resolve this issue that's making history about to repeat itself, it'll be better if we recognize what caused the war in the first place. From it, understanding the US and Israel learned Iran is developing a nuclear weapon, and they're trying to make them stop. To do that, Israel launched missiles to where they believed was Iran's nuclear site, and even the US sent some as well. While I don't really buy the idea of, I mean, what's the point of stopping a country from having a nuclear weapon when you yourself have one? Amongst the entire nations of the world, 9 have nuclear weapons, and they don't want others to have them.
These nuclear weapons are used to inflict fear and show dominance over other countries. Since we all know such weapons can destroy the entire earth, why don't we agree to destroy all the known available nuclear weapons rather than stop others from making theirs when you have yours? Let's just destroy all the nuclear weapons, because you're also using them to oppress others. No country is above the other; we are all equal and should respect one another to cement peace in our world at large.

We want to know the leader of the leader, lol. That’s our major problem.

That's a big problem, no nation ought to take leadership role over the other.
We are all equal and why they should all destroy their nuclear weapons.
A big problem indeed. Hopefully there will come a time when we realize we are all equal.

Indeed, the ongoing conflict between the two country (Israel and Iran)raise deep concerns on history repeating itself.
I believe dialogue and mutual respect would help solve this so as not to escalate beyond....
Thanks for sharing.
🥰🤗🥰
Hopefully they'll not only dialogue alone again, but reach an agreement to uphold peace.
I agree with you on this....

Are they even ready to take steps when they know what caused the war in the first place? These so called leaders are selfish and only care about themselves. See how they are releasing fire everywhere as if it’s a joke while lives are being taken away prematurely. It’s so sad.
It's a disgrace to them all, we needed peace and growth in the economy, ordinary COVID shew us sege, what will people be able to produce during war?
The thing is that the more I read news and write ups concerning this ongoing war over there..the more I get scared of our world. I pray that this particular history wouldn't request itself biko...I don't want to experience what my grandparents experience , God abeg
Am so afraid of war my dear i don’t pray to witness any war
