Highlights of My 2024 Journey

This year, 2024, has been an amazing one filled with so many ups and downs. Even though my experience in it has been more like a rollercoaster ride, I can't help but look back and be grateful for the gift of life and some of the things I was able to pull through within the year, although most of the positive ones are amazing, but then looking back, there's one I can't definitely forget in a hurry, and today I'll be sharing it with you.

Even though many things happened this year that put a smile on my face, such as attaining new milestones, rethinking my steps and decisions, making friends, making money, being lucky, watching my brother graduate from the university, and the other gaining admission and even fulfilling ambition, which I'm thankful for each, one that stood out the most and I'm grateful about is related to my health.

I knew I'd always looked forward to my junior brother graduating from the university because the financial demand from the institution is getting excessive, and so are the mental health implications of getting calls upon calls about new demand. Watching him graduate was a relief to me and a testament to his resilience, which I'm happy for, although another just gained admission, but I know we'll definitely cross that bridge as well, but like I said, the decision I made about my health is something I can't forget in a hurry about this year.

You see, sometimes last year I got tired of the pain and stress involved in going to the hospital to get myself in good health conditions due to my medical condition, and that led to me stop going for medical checkups, treatment, or drug prescriptions. I just lived my life and let each day go by, but then earlier this year I resolved within myself that I want to enjoy life to the fullest again, and to achieve that, I need to prioritize my health and well-being.

A prompt here on Hive even inspired my resolution, and after writing my response to the prompt, I made it a point of duty to make sure I visit the hospital for a medical checkup and get the required treatment to get me in good shape once again, and even though I've made that decision several times before this year and did nothing about it, I was glad that the same isn't the case this year, because I didn't only act on it once but made it a point of duty to visit the hospital as and when due.

And as this year goes by, I've tried as much as possible to stick to my appointment with the doctor and follow most of their guidance, especially eating routine and using my medication. To be fair, it's not easy to stick with this routine, but then I just have to do anything it takes to have a healthier life and be in good shape, and I'm glad to know my decision to prioritize that not only became a reality but also helped greatly during the course of the year.

.
Something later in the year when I fell ill and it was really bad and I couldn't even come online, I went to the hospital and was told it would have been more severe than it was assuming I hadn't been taking my medication. I myself can tell from my body, even though I'm not a big fan of using medicine or visiting the hospital; I knew this decision paid off because the difference was crystal clear.

So deciding to do this and actually doing it is what I can look back on and be grateful I did this year, and one reason is because of the impact it had on my well-being, unlike in the past where I had to go through a sequence of pain and sleepless nights. Since opting to prioritize my health and using all the prescribed medication, I've been having a healthier and better life; I mean, I can now easily sleep whenever I want to, unlike before when I would lay down on the bed for hours without being able to get hold of sleep.

The same goes for my overall well-being that improves thanks to that decision. I remember how I've been avoiding any conversations that have to do with exercise for decades, and thanks to that decision, this year changes everything because I not only went to the gym but also bought even more subscribers and had a coach who guided me on different workout routines that enhance my well-being, help me in my weight loss journey, and several others.

So overall I'm grateful for what I've been able to overcome and achieve this year and hope to do far better in the coming year, and for the remaining days left in this year, we'll have the best of everything without any atom of regret and sorrow but joy and celebration in all ramifications.

Wow... Your stories and experiences in 2024 really amaze me, how you go through your daily life with your unstable health condition, you are great, you can overcome with many obstacles that you face.

It's not easy, not everyone likes to take medicine and stay in the hospital, health is very important for us because we can do anything if our health improves.

Of course, I hope that at the beginning of the new year, your health will be much better, my friend.

Hello @vickoly

I have read your post and I have told you before that I always like your post very much.

You fulfilled your duty as an elder brother and taught your younger brother very well. But on the other hand you said that you did not take care of your health first. See, health first is the saying that if there is life then there is world. This year has been very good for you, I will pray that you continue to progress further.

Stay connected Brother !!
