Finding Comfort in Loved Ones Even in Strange Places

When we talk about a home, it's worth knowing that home isn't all about a physical structure. In my opinion, I believe a home is a place where your loved ones are, be it in the market, at a park, or a random place. It's the presence of those you love and cherish that always feels like home, be it your immediate family members, your siblings, parents, friends, or colleagues. I've been privileged to have a handful of people that each time I'm around them it literally feels like home, even though in the actual sense I'm not actually at home, and in this article today I'd be telling you about some of these people, why I feel like that when I'm around them, and much more.

Top of that list is when I'm around my wife. I know you might say that can also be called home, which is true, but then I can point to some people I've come across in my life that mostly feel agitated when they're around their spouse, and you can't help but wonder how they came about becoming a couple, if love ever existed between them in the past or not. So in light of that, I'd love to say that I actually feel at home and at peace around my wife, regardless of where we are; even when it's a strange place or we're in transit, I feel at peace knowing she's around me and that she'll advise me right.

Secondly is my cousin Titilayo, whom I love to refer to as Titilayomi. She's a unique being who almost always has the right word to say and can notice a change in your countenance from afar even when you try too hard to hide it from those around you. She's one of the few sets of people I can freely be vulnerable around, probably because I can always see genuine concern in her face, words, and actions. Even though sometimes she can be blunt with her words, I know what she's saying is the truth and nothing but the truth. I usually feel at home whenever I'm around her, because I know I'm in a safe space and have an opportunity to learn new things without being discriminated against for my lack of knowledge in those aspects.

So with that being said, even when it's a strange place, I do feel comfortable and at peace whenever I'm around these two wonderful souls. I know I save the majority of what makes me feel at home around my wife, but I intentionally keep that to myself so y'all won't grasp it and want to do the same around her, lols. So in a nutshell, my wife and my cousin sister Titilayo are those who make me feel at home and comfortable even in a strange place that on an ordinary day without them would feel strange, weird, and uncomfortable. So do you also have someone like that? If so, do you mind telling me about them in the comments section below?

Anything can be one's home. It can be a person as long as you are comfortable with them.
