Drawn to the Idea, Repelled by Reality

We all have something we really admire but yet don't do. It could be business, it could be a lifestyle, or even something else, but for one reason or another, you'll just not do such. I, for one, have a handful of businesses I admire but may never do now or in the nearest future; one of such is raising and nurturing livestock. This is usually fascinating to me, and I can't help but imagine how amazing it is to own poultry and rear livestock, but then there are some things that make me not want to delve into it despite how much I admire it, and I'll tell you all about it below.

To start with, I'd first love to talk about some of the reasons why I love the livestock rearing business, one of which is the possibility of having free eggs to eat or do whatever you like with when you rear chickens, and that's not to forget how you don't need to spend huge amounts of money to buy either of those animals during a special celebration or season, as you can easily walk into your poultry and pick up one of the livestock to kill for such occasions, be it, namely, Christmas, New Year, and the like.

Also, having a livestock business is a wonderful business idea that can bring in millions for the owners when they sell their livestock to customers; for instance, selling some species of dogs is quick and expensive, or even selling few-week-old or day-old piglets, grown or few-week-old children, and the like. Selling most of this is lucrative and can turn the situation of poultry owners for good if they are lucky.

One of the major reasons I can't delve into the livestock business despite admiring it and the benefits that come from it is dealing with the smell that comes from the livestock waste, which often smells awful and can almost make one puke. On several occasions I've visited friends poultry, and the way the animals waste stinks makes me run out, and that's why I believe there's no chance I'll do it at all, since it seems as though I can't handle the terrible smell of the waste.

Another on the list is due to fear. I remember a close friend of mine here in Epe investing about four million naira into a fishing business, and when it was about time for him to sell off the fish, someone sneaked into his place and poisoned all the fish, leading to a loss of over eleven million plus based on what he had bargained with potential buyers. I don't want to be in such situations. I've also read different people's experiences of how their livestock keeps dying, leading to several losses, which isn't good for business, so as I don't want to find myself in such a situation, that's why I don't see myself doing this business at all.

So that's about it on the business I admire but yet am not doing or having plans to do in the near future. I already listed my reasons above, and I hope you understand my stance. That doesn't mean I won't delve into other businesses; it's just that I'm skeptical about the livestock business, especially when it's on a large scale. If it's just rearing those I'll consume between my family and me, then that's much easier and manageable.

Has stated in the post above, I downloaded all the pictures used above on canva application and as a Canva Pro subscriber on the application I get to use and download all the available images on their apps and that's why I referenced it in the last part of my post;

All photos are taken and edited on canva.

I'd love to ask, if images from the canva apps are prohibited, so I'd stop using it.
Thanks.

Hi.

I see. Thanks for explaining.
It seems that Canva Pro uses the Shutterstock library.

Maybe it would be better to leave that comment under each photo/image for better visibility.
Something like "The above image comes from the Canva Pro library".

Thanks
