Despite working hard, why are you still poor?
One of the questions a lot of people ask themselves is why they're still poor or living in poverty despite working hard. They can't seem to fathom why they're not excelling in their trade, and it seems as though they're cursed. But if we're to critically analyze wealth creation, is it all about hard work or is there something else involved that helps one accumulate wealth?
To start with, the importance of hard work can never be overemphasized, so it's important in accumulating wealth and other aspects of life. What most people don't know is that hard work alone isn't enough to make wealth, and when it comes to working, we should also inculcate the habit of working smart.
For instance, someone who works as a laborer in a construction company or as a staff member at a factory will think they're hardworking and deserve a better pay or to get more in order to accumulate wealth, which they did. But since the system of the world doesn't work that way, it's highly essential that we restructure ourselves and position ourselves in a way whereby we can accumulate more.
- There are many reasons why someone can remain poor despite working hard, and one of them could be coming from a poor background and the inability to get resources that could be beneficial to their growth, such as education, sponsorship, finance, and several others. Each of these can be instrumental in making one remain in poverty if nothing is done to change the situation.
- There are others who have access to all of these but are still running towards bankruptcy. I've seen someone who came from a rich background and yet is poor, and so have I seen someone who's educated, has a good job, and is hardworking but is still poor. The reason for such people remaining poor can be traced down to a lack of financial Literacy and an inability to properly manage funds.
- Another Core reason why some are still poor is because of their inability to take risks and invest in life-changing projects that could have improved their finances. When you cannot take risks, it's very hard to get extraordinary things, so to make wealth, you must be ready to take risks and invest. Although saving is good, it can never be a medium via which you'll accumulate wealth, invest, and watch your life turn around for the better.
So in a nutshell, to survive or move away from poverty, you must look beyond just working hard, but also work smart and be ready to take risks. You must also equip yourself with financial knowledge that will be instrumental in your wealth acquisition journey.
Thanks for taking out time to read through, have a prosperous life ahead.

The rich don't work for money. The money works for the rich. How much time do the rich put into actual physical work? Check out The Four Hour Work Week. It was discovered in the late 1800's that 80% of the affects comes from just 20% effort. Check out Velfredo Pateto.
Yea that's correct and that's why I said rather than working hard it's better to work smart just like the rich, I like your recommendation and it sounds like something I'll enjoy going through, thanks for your advice.
Stay bless.
True, savings are great but never a medium to accumulate wealth. Investing and taking calculated risks does the job. To have what other people don't, we must be ready to do what others won't, is something I tell myself most times when I want to take action on focus on a goal to achieving something.
Also, being from a poor background can be a factor of why a person can be poor, but it is not just enough to be a factor to make someone remain poor. I have seen people who came from a very poor backgrounds and have changed their stories because they did not look down on themselves or see themselves based on their present circumstances but instead on the potential and the value they can offer. This is the mindset to create wealth
My father is an example of someone who I look up to as an example of someone who came from a very poor background, yet he worked up to the way of funding the school fees of his children and the children of his siblings.
Yea you're absolutely correct about this, the mindset plays a role is helping one scale through this, with a dedicated minda aimed at making a difference
It's good to know your dad is a typical example of someone who rose to stardom from nothing, I'll love to hear his story, such are always an inspiration for me in my personal journey.

Wow amazing post and i do agree with you too. Smart work is the only way to break the line for sure. If you are used to of only hard work then it can be a problem for you indeed.
Both terms are needed to make wealth. Though working hard is important, so does working smart. One has to know what being financially literate means and what it involves. Having different passive incomes, investing, taking risks and others are what makes wealth creation.
These are some good points you've put down, I think the biggest factor is probably risk taking, that's where most of the money is made. If you keep saving, working hard you'll definitely grow but it would take a significantly long time. Time which some people don't have. but then one must take calculated risk so as not to end up losing it all and being in an even worse situation.
I think it's all about consistent hardwork and then taking calculated risks once in a while to jump a couple steps.
