A Christmas reunion: cherishing family ties
December is already in the air and I just can't wait to get going. This year, saved christmas season just for my family. I don't see them any more and I miss them very, very much. Family is unique and very important to me. So I decided to take a holiday trip over Christmas to visit my siblings and the rest of the family. We've all be quite occupied with our own affairs, so these moments together mean a great deal to me.

I’m looking forward to simply being around them, catching up on everything we’ve missed. Life can be a whirlwind and we just don't find time to explain what is happening in life. For Christmas this year, I happen to want to hear everything they have been up to, how they have changed, and what they dream about now. I also wish to disclose what I have been through, as well as telling them what has been happening to me. Spending time together allows us to close those distances and not to break down.
To me, the happiest part of Christmas with the family is the fun we have together. It's all in the little gestalts, family meals with friends and relatives to discuss past experiences together or to forge new ones. I can still see us there, squeezed together, doing the decorations or all together in the kitchen. Those were simple moments, but they brought us closer. However, this year I'd like to repeat some of those and maybe even invent a few more. It's love like being home, it just feels [here], being surrounded by all the people who know me best.
Christmas with the family is, in addition, a way to relax and achieve inner harmony. They are with them I feel safe, and it is an ideal moment to recharge myself after a strenuous apprenticeship year. No matter where life may take me, I am confident that there is only one place I am meant to be, family. I know them and they know me, no need to disguise ourselves as a person. I can simply be myself and it feels great.
This December, I’m looking forward to each moment with them, no matter how small. Whatever we're doing telling stories, finding laughter in old jokes, or just being silent together it all means such a great deal. We barely ever get much time with them but every time we do have me thankful for just how much they matter to me. Family is a gift that keeps on giving for a lifetime so this Christmas I'm grateful to have them all back together.
Look, at the end of the year I'm really excited about all the travel, the hugs with my family, and spending those irreplaceable moments. December is not an ordinary month in the sense, that it is the month for the fullest emotion which is love and bond with the world around us. For me, there’s nothing better than spending this time with the people who mean the most to me.
