The elusive world of dreams
I do remember my dreams but not all of them, and clearly the ones I remember, I do not remember them vividly. It's really strange how the mind works, some dreams stay with us while some fade away. I know I had a dream, but when I try to remember the details, it’s like trying to catch fog.
I believe dreams do have meaning, but sometimes we do not pay attention to it. For instance, before my mom passed away, in my dreams I usually see someone knocking on my door and when I open she will ask me to come home that I'm needed at home. I usually ignore the person and lock my door. The moment I heard of the passing of my mom, I had the same dream, but was awake. When I slept at night, the woman stopped appearing and that's when I realized that she was the one that kept appearing in my dreams and calling me home because she needed me.
I also think the last thing we see or think will determine dreams we have but not all the time though. If I watch a horror movie before going to bed, I'm definitely going to have bad dreams and since I know this I don't watch horror movie before going to bed.
I try to have happy thoughts or watch a movie that makes me laugh and happy before I go to bed, that way I know I have good dreams. There are also times I have had dreams about something that happened to me or a loved one but it doesn't happen immediately or the way I dreamt it, it might happen after a very long time and when it happens I will remember I once sawit in a dream.
I also think that the type of dream we have sometimes determines our mood and feeling throughout the day. Imagine having a good time with family and loved ones in a dream and when you wake up, you feel happy and your day goes well, other times you have a dream where you fight monsters or run away from something chasing you and when you wake up you feel scared or sad because you felt scared in your dream and probably defeated by whatever was chasing you in your dream.
I also think that when we have a bad dream of someone chasing us to hurt us, it's better to defeat the person or thing in your dream and not the other way round.
I think it will make a whole lot of sense of we can remember our dreams and avoid bad things from happening but at the same time we need to have both the good, the bad and the ugly for life to be balanced.
I think dreams are just a part of life that we experience without fully understanding. It’s okay if we don’t remember them all clearly, or if the memories fade away quickly.
