My favorite okra soup recipe
Hello hivers! Welcome to my blog and today's episode of creative Sunday. Today I'll be preparing okra soup, one of my favorite soup after bitterleaf and nsala soup is okra soup.
There are different method to which people prepare their okra. We have the grated or blended okra, the sliced okra. Some people sliced all the okra then pound some of it and grate the rest, this will help the okra to be slimmy when eating. I don't really enjoy this method because it's too slimmy and it's not sweet to me 😂. Someone said it's because I haven't seen someone that cooked it very well for me, maybe the person is right but I'll stick to my method till I see the person that will cook it to my taste.
Me personally, I don't enjoy grated or blended okra, I prefer to slice it or slice then grate some.
My husband is the one that taught me the slicing and grating some of the okra, and I truly enjoy eating okra when I prepare it with this method.
Ingredients used:
Okra
Ugu
Maggi
Salt
Oil
Okpei
Crayfish
Pepper
Onions
Steps:
I started by washing my okra and ugu and sliced them.
Then pounded my crayfish, pepper and okpei together.
I put my pot on fire and allowed to dry then went in with oil and allowed to heat a little bit.
I then added my onions and pounded crayfish, pepper and okpei and fried for a bit.
After frying for about 3 minutes I added the okra and fried it, then added Maggi and salt while frying.
I fried it for about 5 minutes then added vegetable and allowed to steam for 3 minutes and the soup was ready to be served and enjoyed.
You can enjoy this with any swallow of your choice, eba, pupuru, semi, wheat, starch, whatever that works for you.
