Echoes of the past: the timeless magic of 90's music
Music evokes and molds life; it can make one be in a good mood or sad, exhilarated, or even memories of the before times. Music has changed over the years. Music from the 90s is very different compared to music we are exposed to today. Though there are people who love new songs, I'm a fan of 90s song music because the music is much more meaningful and resonates from peoples' hearts.
Approaching, I really do like the lyrics for the 90's songs. Then, the song's lyrics were always about struggling, lonesome, romantic and all that expressive stuff. The musician really took their sweet time to compose deeply touching lyrics. If I am listened to 90's music, I can feel each word, and sometimes, even tears fall down in my eyes. I still remember, I listened to Whitney Houston's song called "I Will Always Love You". The way she sang with such passion made me feel every word. It was not only a song but also a tale of love and death.
But each time I am listening to the most recent song in the air, I get an idea about what is missed. Most of the music nowadays is only for money, fame, and drinking. The song lyrics keep on repeating themselves repeatedly. I have sometimes asked, "How come the soul seems to be absent in music? And I remember an experience the next day while on a bus and listening to a current song played over the intercom. The beat was nice, but the words didn't make sense. The song kept on playing back a similar saying and I began to get bored of it.".
I really like 90s songs because 90s songs are made from real instruments. Sound of an audio realistic music produced by guitar, piano, or drums came out as real sound. Nowadays, most songs use computer beats. Although there is some beat for a small number of new songs, these songs hardly ever produce a deep response that is thought to accompany music played by physical instruments.
Also, 90s music had great storytelling. Singers did not just fumble sounds where they should go; they gave their life story in the ways that people could relate to. As a song, e.g., Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" the narrative is a sweet tale of gratitude and love. Not only people who never loved anyone, but a multitude of people experience the feeling from the song. At present, song is dominated by complaints about appearance, dance, or the accumulation of wealth.
I won't say all new songs are bad. But, there are also artists now, who can still produce evocative music to the listener. Nevertheless, in the majority of new creations the beats are stressed not so much the message. On occasion, I am transported back to that time of life when the music was pure, heartfelt, and full of blossom.
I know each generation has its own style of music, but to me, the 90s will always be something special. It evokes reminiscence, cases teaching, something so deeply resonant. Thus, no matter how many new songs are coming, I will still have a love for music in the nineties.
