A friend of ours invited me and @outlinez on a hiking trip to the "The Burnt Bridge" area located in the Strandzha Mountains.

So that day we went on a wonderful hike, which we started from the Strandja village of Stoilovo, and this will be my Wednesday walk this week.

From the center of the village we headed southeast.

At the edge of the village we encountered cows.

We reached some swings above which there was a wooden sign saying Stoilovo and from there we took the dirt road.

Our friend had visited the area years ago and was now guiding us from memory.

We found Calvatia mushrooms along the way.

There were lots of wildflowers along the way.

I was especially happy to find a wild orchid.

We pass through different sections, alternating betwand enter the forest.

Just when the trail got lost and we thought we wouldn't find the bridge, we saw a sign and markings.

We continued walking along paths where apparently no one had passed recently.

We passed a beautiful area with a beautiful view from above and the ground was covered with hundreds of Anemones.

The path descended down to the river and we ware surrounded by beautiful trees, mosses, and wildflowers.

The path around the river was even more difficult to traverse because of the tall grass and stinging nettles.

But we kept moving forward to reach the remains of the burned bridge.

Finally we arrived.

Remains of stone foundations covered with moss and vegetation.

In the distance, large stone columns could be seen in the water, and in front of them the river formed a beautiful bend.

I didn't find any information about the Burnt Bridge, but what our friend told us, according to local legends, was that the bridge was destroyed during the Russo-Turkish War.

We were going to return to the village, and since the hike to the place was picturesque and varied, we eagerly began the climb back.

Thank you for stopping by!
