"The flag" area and chapel "St. Elijah"
Today I want to show you an interesting place, namely the The flag area, where a small chapel "St. Elijah" was built on a low hill near the Strandja village of Stoilovo.
The place is easy to get to - from the center of the village of Stoilovo, head south along a marked trail. It takes about 15 minutes to walk through a beautiful area, and the Bulgarian flag that flies in the area can be seen from afar and serves as a landmark.
The chapel was a low, well-maintained wooden building.
The door was difficult to open, requiring a slight lift. Inside, it was interesting to look at the painted walls with religious symbols and all the antique objects that were carefully preserved and arranged.
The chapel was built in a place called "The flag".
There is a stone plaque here on which it is written that the first signal for the Preobrazhensko Uprising was given here in 1903 with the bomb thrown by Voivode Diko Dzhelebov.
Next to the stone plaque there is an 18-meter high pylon on which the Bulgarian flag is hung.
There are gazebos and a fireplace around.
Аt the foot of the hill there is a large stone fountain, from which the locals warned me not to drink the water, as it is polluted.
The flag locality, besides providing a beautiful view of the mystical Strandzha Mountain, has a combination of religious and historical significance, which is why it is interesting to visit.

I would love to visit holy places like this one. The chapel was small, but it looked very cozy and well-maintained inside. You took great pictures of the chapel and even the view outside. I hope I can visit the place someday.🙂
The place is really worth visiting. I'm glad you liked it @francesc9985! Have a wonderful day 🌞
