Chapels around the Strandzha village Stoilovo
Soon, with @outlinez , we were in the Strandzha village of Stoilovo and visited two chapels located in the vicinity - the chapel of "St. Constantine" and the chapel of "St. Constantine and Helena".
Early in that morning, we took a walk among the awakening nature in the northwestern direction of the village.
The trees, still with only bare branches without leaves, amidst meadows of green moss, and among them small conifers with fresh pine tips.
Many of the trees, in addition to interesting shapes, had even more interesting hollows.
A sign shows the way to the chapel.
The chapel of St. Constantine is located in a ravine. We passed among tall trees and carpets of fallen leaves, among which the blue flowers of Muscari were showing.
The small chapel was a wooden building in which icons, candles and censers were carefully placed.
There is a large stone fountain here. From the inscriptions, I understand that the fountain was built by the Malko Tarnovo forestry in 1967.
Nearby there were wooden benches and a table, which unfortunately were broken.
Later in the day, my husband and another friend decided to visit the other chapel in the area - the "St. Constantine and Elena" chapel. It is also located in the northwestern part of the village, but is much closer.
We walked along the dirt paths and enjoyed the small pine trees, the blooming dandelions and violets.
Near a small swampy area full of cheerful frogs we found the place where the chapel was built.
Near the entrance there is a large wooden gazebo with a canopy, and descending down we reached the chapel.
There is a stone fountain with healing water here.
The water of the spring has been known to the local population since time immemorial. People believe that it cures many diseases, but mainly the eyes.
