A Mountain Village Raduil

I recently visited the mountain village Raduil - the first settlement through which the beautiful Maritsa River passes.

The village is located on the northern slopes of the Rila mountain at 833.40 m above sea level and is the second largest village in Samokov municipality.

Passing through Raduil, with my friends we were drawn to the center of the village.

The name of the village was written on a large sign made of wood.

There were also plaques with thoughts expressed about the village by great Bulgarian poets such as Ivan Vazov and Hristo Smirnenski, who lived or visited the village during different stages of their lives.

Mountain water gushed from a large stone fountain in a circular shape, surrounded by wooden benches.

There was a huge tank and a MiG 21PF in the central square.

There was a monument that was built in honor of the fallen Raduil residents in 1912-1913.

The community center of the village. It hosts exhibitions and other cultural events, as well as the International Folklore Festival Bob-fest, for which the village is famous.

The village post office.

There were restaurants, pubs and shops in the village.

Unfortunately, I was not able to explore the two churches that were built in the village and the chapels. I managed to catch only the new church in the distance, which seemed to be quite large and interesting.
