Sometimes water reflects more than the shapes that surround it.

In the pool of this hotel, the water remains still. There is no laughter, no splashing, none of the usual movement of those who come to cool off or rest beside it. The fuel crisis the country is facing has also brought many places to a halt, and this hotel is one of them.

Even so, the pool remains there, fulfilling another unexpected role. On its surface are reflected the buildings around it, those resting areas designed for visitors, as well as the ornamental stones that are part of the place’s design. Everything appears duplicated in the water with an almost perfect calm.

What caught my attention was that contrast: a space created for activity and enjoyment now turned, for the moment, into a silent mirror. Where there was once movement, now there are reflections. Where voices used to be heard, only the stillness of the water remains, holding the images of its surroundings.

Sometimes places also go through their pauses. And in that unexpected calm, the water finds another way to tell the story of the moment: reflecting not only the structures around it, but also the silence that accompanies them.

Hola, hermosa comunidad de #ShadowHunters, participo con mucha ilusión en este nuevo concurso, doy las gracias a @olgavita por la convocatoria.

A veces el agua refleja más que las formas que la rodean.

En la piscina de este hotel, el agua permanece quieta. No hay risas, no hay salpicaduras, no hay el movimiento habitual de quienes vienen a refrescarse o a descansar junto a ella. La crisis de combustible que vive el país también ha detenido muchos lugares, y este hotel es uno de ellos.

Sin embargo, la piscina sigue allí, cumpliendo otra función inesperada. En su superficie se reflejan las construcciones que la rodean, esas áreas pensadas para el descanso de los visitantes, y también las piedras ornamentales que forman parte del diseño del lugar. Todo aparece duplicado en el agua, con una calma casi perfecta.

Me llamó la atención ese contraste: un espacio creado para la actividad y el disfrute convertido por ahora en un espejo silencioso. Donde antes había movimiento, hoy hay reflejos. Donde antes se escuchaban voces, ahora solo queda la quietud del agua sosteniendo las imágenes del entorno.

A veces los lugares también atraviesan sus pausas. Y en esa calma inesperada, el agua encuentra otra manera de contar la historia del momento: reflejando no solo las estructuras que la rodean, sino también el silencio que las acompaña.
