Happy fun Friday friends and welcome to my diy blog post, in this chapter we are engaging in a tech fix which isn't my territory in the slightest bit, as a persona who is not tech savy in nature i have had to wing most of my malfunction with technological accessories most of the time, at other times i simply have to pay to get them fix which isn't the most thrilling idea for me when i try to cut cost, but today i have encountered a problem with my chromebook laptop which has served me for over two years now, i made this purchase in the summer of 2022 and it has worked fine up until the moment i encountered a wireless network issue, we get into the process i took to fixing it which was motivated by @equipodelta industrial repair post DIY: Cambio de Fan Cooler Cpu Intel / Fan Cooler Replacement Cpu Intel (Esp/Eng) .

the process was a little hectic from the point of a novice like me but i was able to get it done.

Steps i took to Fix the problems

first of all let me hint that i was clueless to any fix possible, i just wanted to try my best and see if it worked, if all i tried didnt work, i was to have it sent to the repair shop for a professional check.

Step 1

i started off with, checking the wifi intel card, seated on the mother board, unscrewing the nut from underneath the laptop, i located the wifi card on the left corner of the laptop from a guide i had read online, this process was done to make sure not screws were loose around the wifi connection. i thought to check this because it was sudden for the wifi to disconnect without connecting after several trial of rebooting.

step 2

The first step was clear and i decided to power wash the laptop, going over to setting after securing my files ina usb device i clicked on reset setting,where the power wash setting is located and i clicked reset.

After the reset the laptop was like brand new and was at the default setting, but the problem wasn't fixed still. the chrombook s till couldn't turn on and couldn't recognize the surrounding wifi networks.

in this step i have then decided to reinstall chrome os on the pc, as it had appeared to be a software issue.

step 3

I downloaded the chrome os from my siblings laptop after looking up online how to install a new Chrom OS,

i then inserted the usb and started the re-install of the OS.

step 4

This process took me about 20 minutes, from the download to the re-installing process, and this was how the page look liked after initiating the install command, there was a bunch of code which i didn't quiet understand, i just left it to do it thing to see the outcome , here i had thought if didn't work i would just give up and send it in fr a repair.

The install was completed and before even singing in to my account the wifi had turned on for me to sig in, i was elated and thankful. My resolve was that i was running an older version of OS and it needed an upgrade, it was really surprising to see that this could cause the problem of the wifi connectivity.
