Ingredients used
250 grams of dried hibiscus flowers
A teaspoonful sugar
powdered ginger flavouring
esp
250 kg gramos de flores secas de hibisco
una cucharadita de azúcar
aroma de jengibre en polvo
1 litre of water
Step By Step Process
step 1.
We are beginning by the quickly washing of the dried flower, i pour it into a plastic bowl running water into the bowl and moving my hand around in the bowl to make sure dust is gone , i do the process rather quickly so that the flower dosen't bleed much into the waste water .
step 3.
in this step i proceeded to add water to the pot mixing it with the flower.
step 4.
in this step i have moved my boiling pot unto the burner to cook, this process is going to be done for 15 minutes on high heat, i boiled my flowers in a about a litre of water which is what i thought to be ideal for my 250 grams of flower, this was the right amount to extract a rich tasting drink.
step 5.
After about 15- 20 minutes i left the drink to simmer down after which i then added my sugar to the mixture and my ginger drink powder., the ginger taste provides the classical tasting hibiscus flower drink which is what i am use to, other flavouring can be added int this process too, it soley depends on your preference, i usually use ginger majorly for it health benefits and the spicy taste it add to the drink

i finally transfer a part of the drink to a glass for serving.
My result!
this is my resulting colour after being served, almost could pass as red wine, which why i have chosen a wine glass to serve, the taste i is also as rich as i would have wanted it, the tingly feel the ginger gives the drink is also very complimenting , this drink could be served for dessert purposes especially when chilled it just really provide the essense of a healthy drink to share with friends for event.

Hi @vanessakor
Please correct your ingredients list. I think it could be 250 grams (although I think that amount is exaggerated), and there you say that you have 250 kilos (which is a really out of place amount). They are grams, not kilograms
The correction has been made as it was a typo error, i see why the flower quantity displayed would seem rather exaggerated because it wasn't all displayed in the ingrdeints photo, i had used a 250 grams cup to measure out my flower this was the amount i had made, and at the same time the resulting quantity of drink had already been reduced from the pot initially after i had finished with the heating. i showed the remaining part which i believe gets across my point of context, Thank you for stopping by on my post, i appreciate your support always.
I love this drink, with the Hibiscus flower I have even prepared jelly, its flavor is exquisite, when I prepare it in tea I do not add sugar because its natural flavor is very rich.
Thank you for your recipe, it is wonderful.
Yes it is so rich, you can choose to have it in any way, i haven't seen hibiscus with jelly, that would be nice too, maybe you should share the link to the post, if you uploaded the content on here. thank you for your comment. @carisma
You can see the gelatin recipe in my Blog 🙂
Saludos.
Ginger in hibiscus drink is totally a game changer. I make this drink thrice in a month, mostly on a Sundays. Sometimes I make enough to store in my fridge.
I know right, making enough to store, is really great, nothing like having a chilled hibiscus drink on a hot sunday afternoon, thank you for stopping by @ginika
Exactly.
What's your thought on adding pineapple to it.
im telling you i remade a fresh pineapple flavoured batch after this one, i also used some pineapple flavouring, i indeed think the pineapple is also another staple for hibiscus drink. thanks for your comment.
You are welcome
