IMPACTFUL KNOWLEDGE THAT I LEARNT OUTSIDE THE FOUR WALLS OF SCHOOL.
School is important and impactful in so many ways, but then I tell people that school is an ideal world, especially the university level.
And if you get trapped in that ideal world that was created to divert your attention and priority to grades and certificates , you will lack real life skills.
Because books and what you are taught in school doesn't prepare you for the challenges you stand to face in reality.
In this week prompt we are asked to share one lesson we learnt about life that you didn't get in school .
A lesson that has shaped your life for better ever since and how it affected your life.
I learnt a lot of lessons, but then I learnt one remarkable lesson, which is Networking and Socializing has more values than your grades and certificates.
Someone once told me that relationships are like currencies, who you know and how you trust people matters alot.
We go to school for years chasing grades and good results, it's very good to do that, but then we weren't enlightened about the scarcity of employment in the outside world.
Year to year we see post on social media of new/fresh graduate, we all congratulate them, but then have you sat to ask yourself, what is next after pictures and congratulations.
Most times we neglect connecting with people, but then just a little recommendation can change your life faster than your certificate. Keep good relationships and be good to people.
People gets jobs because they were recommended, so the power of networking is better than chasing grades and certificates that will not be recognized in the outside world.
But then in school we feel mighty for acquiring an excellent result.
Colleges and universities shouldn't be limited to just studies, but also place to communicate, connect, network with new friends.
I went to university when I was 16years old and I was completely naive, an introvert and then I hardly keep communication with people, so I had very limited friends, and at the end of my school days I realized that wasn't a good lifestyle.
I felt I limited the opportunities I had to endulge in other activities to just focusing on my grades .
So the major lesson I learnt about life that I wasn't taught in school was the socializing is more valuable than your grades, when I mean socializing, I mean networking with people.
Networking and socializing in school will give you better opportunities in your business, career and future more than your acquired certificate.
Fast forward to my service year, I can boldly say I made good and impactful friends, that have impacted me positively than the limited friends I kept in my university days.
I really wish I realized the power of socializing before I went to university.
Also, school doesn't prioritize entrepreneurship, in school we are taught to work under firm and companies that are mostly occupied, when the way to successful in the generation is embracing entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is better than most White collarjobs.
Schools need to encourage entrepreneurship and networking among students, but that's one knowledge that won't be taught in school, rather you will be taught outdated courses that have zero or no impact in your life after school.
One of the things I got to learn that school didn't teach me is that nobody owes you anything, your life and fate is totally in your hands , you have to work hard and don't blame situations surrounding you for your failure.
Failure is not the end, but rather an information and an experience to learn from.
And lastly, one of the things I feel should be well taught and enlightened especially during the last year of study is a course that should educate young and fresh graduates about the handling pressure and expectations that they would face out there, help them realize that they shouldn't be drowned in depression during this phase and also the important of patients, it's lack of patience that leads to illegal businesses and many form of corruption .
This will help to in preparation of what real life is outside school.

Certainly said @van.illa, the school is a place which can get educated to be smart and resilient, but honestly it isn't a place where you can learn the ups and downs of life. It is also wise to remember that we can achieve a lot outside school life, being in the society helps us to actually experience a first hand knowledge about life. Well done amigo.
You are right, the society gives us experience and build us with the knowledge about life.
Thanks for stopping by .
My pleasure, amigo.
