Shenanigans of an adventurous teenager

I have always been quite the little rascal growing constantly on the look out for some sort of adventure to soothe my restless spirit. This has always pushed into quite a lot of mess regardless of warnings from parents and elder siblings. My immediate elder brother was an indoor person and although we were close, he never really had much time for shenanigans😁😁.

As a teenager my adventurous spirit grew even bigger and since I was pretty good with people, I made a lot of friends within and outside the neighborhood. Having lots of friends meant more things to do, places to go to and a lot of fun activities to indulge in. However the one thing that took a vast majority of my time was hanging out in an abandoned rusty old car right up a hill pretty close to home. The location of the car was hidden from the watchful eyes of parents and that was what made it more alluring. My friends and I would stay there for hours talking, pretending to drive the car even going as far as role playing just for the thrill of it. Whenever we were free during noon, the hill was our chilling spot. I cannot even count the number of times I have been scolded for staying out late as I always loose track of time anytime I am vibing it out in my haven. This continued for months until something scary happened that put a stop to everything.

On a very good Friday afternoon, my friends and I were at our usual location uphill interacting as we normally do. That day I decided to spike things up a bit. I suggested to the rest of the boys that we should go for a ride with the car. Confused by how this was possible they asked how I planned on doing it. I simply told them that two people should push the car while the rest stayed inside with me in the drivers seat controlling everything. This felt reasonable enough to the rest of the crew until we eventually got into it. Immediately the car was pushed, it started off slowly but quickly picked off speed with no sign of stopping shoving everyone into a frenzy overwhelmed with fear of what felt like the end for us all.

Luckily for us, the car ran into a tree and was brought to a complete standstill. Nobody died from the incident but we all left with injuries and a few fractures. I was left with a fractured right arm, scratches here and there and a huge bump on my forehead. I dragged my self back home that day but told my parents my injuries were a result from a car accident as I was about crossing the road . My mom yelled at me for not being careful enough but the joy of me coming back safe was all that mattered to her and so I got off with just a warning.
My friends and I stopped going up that hill from that day onward, we never told our parents about what really happened that day but fear from that event is something we will never forget.

This is my first time in this community and this write-up is a response to the prompt for the week. Thanks for stopping by y'all.

Sometimes I wish I can go back to those days when I had nothing to worry about. Those were one of the best years of my life
