Crypto and the Coming KYC Internet
I haven't addressed the sudden imposition of KYC on the internet much. I've been giving it a lot of thought however. The very day the UK put the Online Safety Act into effect, they began targeting UK dissidents posting on non-UK platforms. Clearly requiring KYC isn't about saving children. It's about preventing dissent.
I don't think it's just about that either. Heliowave discusses what may be the real implications of KYC on the internet. Americans should recall that Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, and many others, used pseudonyms discussing their political views prior to the American Revolution. Franklin was a printer, which is why he could post pseudonymous communications. Heliowave makes the telling point that government doesn't care about keeping kids away from pr0n because they're exposing them to detailed information on having anal sex with adults, what most people would call perversion, in schools nowadays. Worse, Keir Starmer, whom is today the PM of the UK, was the man in charge of prosecuting sex crimes against children when police and the UK were facilitating mass gang rapes of little British girls, even arresting parents that tried to extract their little girls from the clutches of gangs that were sexually abusing them and pimping them out for profit. The UK is notorious for facilitating child sexual abuse by politicians, and the Jeffrey Epstein scandal is about using such abuse as means of control. MI6 is all over it, while we hear only of Mossad and the CIA in connection to Epstein.
So, the UK demonstrates it has no interest in protecting children from content focused on sex, because they've literally participated in pimping them out as prostitutes, and so have American and other governments, in order to blackmail politicians. Keir Starmer has said - and demonstrated - that dissent from the UK's immigration policies will not be tolerated, and as soon as the OSA was in effect, began using it against people dissenting from those policies on X, an American platform.
In the above linked video from Heliowave, he plays a clip of Hillary Clinton saying '...if platforms don't moderate content, we lose total control...'. And that is the issue: total control of humanity. Controlling our speech - which is what KYC internet will do - isn't about what we say. Controlling our speech controls everything we do. Can you rent an apartment without communicating with the landlord? Can you buy chicken, or salt, without the seller communicating to you? Everything we do and everything we have depends on speech, and by totally controlling what we can say, we ourselves are totally controlled.
Crypto is just speech, BTW. It's just data, just like any other speech, and only has any value if it can be communicated. You can't buy or sell any BTC if you can't communicate about it. Note that because KYC enables your overlords to control you specifically, they can specifically prevent you from buying or selling BTC, and not the market in general, or they themselves, from doing so. They can allow you to buy or sell BTC, but only under specific conditions, such as you can only have it for a certain number of days, for a certain purpose, or if you have eaten your bugs like a good citizen. KYC internet converts every crypto into a CBDC, even Monero.
We should strenuously object to requiring ID to use the internet, and absolutely refuse to use biometric ID at all (for myriad reasons, primarily that corporations can't keep their data safe from hackers, and once a hacker has you biometric ID, he has your ID for the rest of your life, because you can't change your biometric information like you can change a password), as well as for internet access, but that will not stop (((them))) from implementing these policies. We must use other means to communicate that we ourselves own, such as Reticulum, and decide ourselves what we are allowed to communicate. If we do not, if we accede and use the KYC internet, we will be slaves. As we have seen, (((they'll))) slowly introduce limitations, and perhaps even positive requirements, like agreeing to not boycott Israel, or to vote, but also sudden changes will be implemented, as the UK has immediately done shutting down dissent to immigration policies the very day the OSA was implemented.
I have said this about crypto for years now. As long as (((they))) own the physical network we communicate on - the internet - crypto depends on (((their))) permission. The whole idea of crypto is that it is permission free - but depending on the internet makes it dependent on permission of the network owners. We've seen debanking used to silence dissent, as it was against the Truckers Freedom Convoy in Canada, and against Nigel Farage in the UK, and many others for a variety of reasons. GoFundMe is notorious for only allowing crowd funding of purposes it is in favor of. VISA and other payment processors have eliminated the ability of Odysee and many other people and users to accept payment in fiat. How long do you think it will be before crypto is used the same way?
Just say no to slavery. The way to do that is to be independent of the goods and services slavers provide. Independence is freedom. Dependence is slavery. Be free.
We have HIVE!
Under 16s will be "banned" from social media in Australia too; with a similar KYC for others.
On another note:
Billing for Internet Service Providers requires the account holder to do a few hoops - especially for fixed stuff, because it is obviously linked to a physical place, a person must be responsible for the invoice, and many providers want to do a credit check to make sure you're good for it.
There's also swathes of meta data retention laws, etc.
We can send encrypted memos on HIVE. We can communicate openly. Importantly, to me, it is immutable. That's worth more than the token could ever be worth or valued at.
A hive account for less than a dollar is a great freedom. It's more than what it is now. I just hope others see the same way as me.
The neat thing about Hive is that it doesn't have a 'home office'. There is no one authorized to accept legal service, nor to implement platform wide censorship or bans.
ISP's remain a weakness, and there are many Hive users that are currently required to submit to KYC to access the platform. Were we to adopt Reticulum we would become the ISP, with no authority between us and Hive to tell us to censor ourselves. We should do that.
Thanks!
So long as the witness nodes, too, can run on that hardware and have enough scalability and low enough latency to make it tolerable for use. I read up on the Reticulum stuff. I have a friend who is a former wireless engineer, and he used to "talk" shop to me about such things, and it looks pretty nice.
I once upon time worked for an ISP, and there are many people who monitor different wireless spectrums (and the transmissions they send) - reticulum uses encryption which is good, and frequencies which do not seem to be reserved for govt "spectrum auction" rights.
I don't understand a lot of the technical docs, but it looks like an interesting and sustainable technology.
I am confident these challenges can be surmounted. Tech advances and will overcome any limitations that stand in the way in due time. It's not like we have any choice, because the KYC internet will eradicate free speech, and free speech is an existential need because it is how we are alerted to danger that will, if we let it, cost everything we own, even our very lives. It is because of forthright speech that I avoided the jabs, and I am not alone. I know my life depends on it, and listening only to liars will lay me low.
I see people cheering it, and knew that it was likely to attempt to be pushed in 2025. Looks like Agenda 2030 is not floundering as we hoped it would, but we have to be ever vigilant and refute these totalitarian measures whenever and wherever possible.
There will always be wannabe tyrants, and vigilance will always be necessary to secure freedom. Hive is not availed a Home office. There is no one who can accept legal service or has authority over Hive to implement KYC requirements as I understand it. The individual users of Hive reach it through ISPs, and those can be required to implement KYC and ban, censor, and throttle users if ordered by tyrants to do so. Hive users from the UK and SK, at least, are already subjected to KYC to go online. However, were Hive's nodes reachable through the Reticulum network, the users themselves would be the ISP, and no centralized authority would be between them and the rest of the world to demand they censor themselves.
Hive should be able to do this IMHO.
Thanks!
That's really intriguing, I think I recall you mentioning Reticulum in a post somewhere, or I saw someone talking about it. It is indeed a wonderful thing!
For the KYC internet issue, do VPN's relieve some of the issues in terms of getting out without KYC, knowing that the likes of Fakebook and others are going to attempt to implement it so that would be needed from that, but web searching is still open, at least I think.
I use a VPN at all times now, but I have been told that Tubeyou is now blocking VPN's (I don't know because I avoid using Goolag products, and that includes their video platform). VPN's can be automatically blocked by platforms, and by ISP's, so they aren't a foolproof solution to KYC. I am not technically competent to assess Reticulum's ability to ensure access to platforms that want to ensure their users are KYC'd, but I assume it can be blocked too.
However, it seems to me that such platforms aren't particularly critically important to free speech, as they intend to not support it and purpose to block folks routing around censorship. For crypto, they don't matter at all, but exchanges, where cryptos are transacted, matter a great deal. I assume that CEX's will have to enforce KYC, but it is my hope that DEX's do not, and that will enable crypto to be useful and valuable when availed a Reticulum mesh network owned by it's users.
Great words, thanks man! I as well use a VPN 24/7 now for the simple fact that I want to provide the data brokers with as little data for them to sell of mine as possible. Privacy is of course an added bonus!
It's a strange world that's for sure! I hope there are enough people aware of these issues with the attempted control of the internet to refute it and establish bastions against the tyranny.
Dear @valued-customer !
The overlords are gaining wealth and power through child prostitution and child pornography. Commoners like me know this and must remain silent!
expands digital ID verification for overseas
National Digital ID Rollout for 52 Million Citizens
Dear @valued-customer !
Is there digital ID verification for Americans overseas in the US?
I have not encountered any such thing. When I do, I will quit using the internet.
Thanks!
Dear @valued-customer !
Is there a National Digital ID Rollout for Americans?
If the government finds out I told you this, I could face criminal charges!😂
I envy you the freedoms you enjoy as an American civilian!😂
I am a slave to the overlords!😔
I hope your health and long life!
Not that I am aware of at this time, but it is certainly what Palantir and the tech bros seek.
I hope you enjoy prosperity and felicity beyond your imagination all your days.
