I hope you are all doing well. Today I want to talk to you about an anime I started watching recently. I had heard about it a long time ago, but I had never gotten around to watching it, so last weekend, when I had nothing else to do, I decided to give it a try. The anime is called Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
The anime begins by showing us the underworld, the realm where demons live, telling us that for a long time the throne of the demon king has been vacant, waiting for its rightful owner.
From this introduction, the story portrays the story of Iruma Susuki, a poor and unfortunate boy who was exploited and abused by his parents since he was a child. They forced him to work to support them, meaning that Iruma worked from a young age to support his parents. Years of work and abuse by his parents conditioned Iruma to be shy, cowardly, and unable to ever say no.
But soon, Iruma's life as a slave changes when his parents sell him to a demon for money. Contrary to what seemed to be the end of Iruma, the demon named Sullivan does not torture or eat him, but instead adopts Iruma and makes him his “little grandson,” After Sullivan, in a very childish manner and completely out of character for someone of his rank (he is apparently the next demon king), explains that he always wanted a grandson to show off and spoil, he goes against his subordinate's advice and searches for a human grandson. Obviously, there is a dark reasoning behind this, as my expertise in anime stories tells me that Iruma was not chosen by coincidence.
This is how Iruma becomes Sullivan's grandson and goes to live in the demon world, attending Babyls Academy, where Sullivan is the principal, while trying to prevent everyone from discovering that he is human and to go unnoticed until graduation... He fails: he scares the demons on his first day, defeats the strongest of the new recruits and makes him his subordinate, as well as turning the strictest teacher at the academy, Kalego, into his magical beast, and of course, the rivals keep coming.
As I said, this is an anime I started watching recently, and I've liked what I've seen so far. It's a pretty funny anime. But it's quite funny, yet it has moments that are tender and somewhat cliché, because Iruma is so sweet. I think he's a good character with consistent development, and the plot is solid and well handled. It should be noted that Iruma's development is accompanied by the development of his environment and the characters around him, who are the friends he makes along the way.
The format remains a classic high school story with everything that school life entails, from rivalries, secrets, untold stories, friendships, and constant trials and challenges along the way. In each chapter, we learn something new about the demonic world and demons, that is, the plot expands from simple to more complex as the situations that happen to Iruma become more atypical for a “normal human” in the underworld.
This anime focuses on Iruma's search for identity, with lots of comedy, extravagant characters, and absurd situations, as Iruma not only survives in the demon realm but also climbs the pyramid of power in this world. It should be noted that, although there is action and certain battles, this is not the main focus of the story. Even when they do occur, they have a more strategic or comical tone than a violent physical exchange.
Sooner rather than later, Iruma will realize what he can become as he makes a name for himself in the underworld, commanding both respect and fear. The story expands as the hidden background of the plot is revealed, such as: Where is the previous Demon King? Or why did Sullivan choose Iruma? In short, it's a school comedy set in the underworld, as Iruma finds his place in the world and discovers who he can become.

Espero que se encuentren bien. Hoy les quiero hablar de un anime que empecé a ver hace poco. Hace mucho tiempo que escuché de él, pero nunca me había animado a verlo, así que el fin de semana anterior, que no tenía nada que hacer, decidí verlo. El anime se llama: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
El anime empieza mostrándonos el inframundo, el reino donde habitan los demonios, contándonos que desde hace mucho tiempo el trono del rey demonio a estado desocupado y esperando a su legítimo dueño.
A partir de esta introducción, la historia nos retrata la historia de Iruma Susuki, un pobre y desafortunado chico, quien era explotado y abusado por sus padres desde que este era muy niño. Obligándolo a trabajar, para que los mantuviera, es decir, Iruma desde pequeño trabajaba para mantener a sus padres. Años de trabajo y maltrato por parte de sus padres, condicionaron a Iruma a la timidez, la cobardía y al nunca poder decir que no.
Pero, pronto, la vida como esclavo de Iruma, cambia cuando sus padres por dinero lo venden a un demonio. Al contrario de lo que parecía ser el fin de Iruma, el demonio de nombre Sullivan, no lo tortura ni se lo come, sino que adopta a Iruma y lo convierte en su “nietecito”, después de que Sullivan de manera muy infantil y nada acorde a su rango (al parecer, es el próximo rey demonio), explica que siempre quiso un nieto del cual presumir y al cual mimar, y yendo en contra de los consejos de su subordinado busca un nieto humano, aunque evidentemente, hay un razonamiento oscuro detrás de esto, pues mi experticia en historias de anime, es que Iruma no fue elegido por coincidencia.
Es así, como Iruma se convierte en el nieto de Sullivan y a vivir en el mundo demoníaco, asistiendo a la Academia Babyls, academia donde Sullivan es director, mientras trata de evitar que todos descubran que es humano y pasar desapercibido hasta la graduación… No lo logra: asusta a los demonios en su primer día, derrota al más fuerte de los nuevos ingresos y lo convierte en su subordinado, así como convierte al profesor más estricto de la academia, Kalego en su bestia mágica, y por supuesto los rivales no dejan de llegar.
Como dije, este es un anime que empecé hace poco y lo que he visto hasta ahora me ha gustado. Es un anime bastante gracioso. Pero es bastante gracioso, pero tiene momentos bastante tiernos y algo clichés, es que Iruma es muy tierno. Considero que es un buen personaje con un desarrollo consistente, la trama es sólida y bien manejada. Cabe destacar que el desarrollo de Iruma va acompañado del desarrollo de su entorno y de los personajes que lo rodean, que son los amigos que hace en el camino.
El formato se mantiene en una clásica historia de instituto con todo lo que conlleva la vida escolar, desde rivalidades, secretos, historias no contadas, amistades y constantes pruebas y desafíos en el camino. En cada capítulo se va aprendiendo algo nuevo sobre el mundo demoniaco y de los demonios, es decir, la trama se expande, de sencilla a más compleja, a medida que las situaciones que le suceden a Iruma se vuelven más atípicas para un “humano normal” en el inframundo.
Este anime está enfocado en la búsqueda de la identidad de Iruma, con mucha comedia, con personajes extravagantes o situaciones absurdas, mientras Iruma no solo sobrevive en el reino demoniaco, sino que escala en la pirámide de poder de este mundo. Cabe destacar que, aunque hay acción y ciertas batallas, este no es el enfoque principal de la historia. Incluso cuando ocurren, tienen un tono más estratégico o cómico que un intercambio físico violento.
Más pronto que tarde, Iruma se dará cuenta de quién puede llegar a hacer, mientras se va haciendo un nombre en el inframundo, que genere respeto y también miedo. La historia se va expandiendo a medida que se va revelando el trasfondo oculto de la trama, como: ¿Dónde está el anterior Rey demonio? ¿O por qué Sullivan eligió a Iruma? En resumen, es una comedia escolar en el inframundo, mientras Iruma encuentra un lugar en el mundo y descubre quién puede llegar a ser.

Jajajaj sí, me da mucha risa cuando le dice "nietecito", y sí lo derrotó le hice un suplex alemán que lo dejó noqueado.
