Normality — the comfort that keeps us in place

Normality — the comfort that keeps us in place

We grew up with the idea that “normal” is good. That if you follow the rules, if you don’t disturb, if you conform, you will be accepted, respected, maybe even loved. But what we weren’t told is that “normal” doesn’t build bridges to the future. It only maintains the present.

In school, we were taught to reproduce, not to invent. To fit into the mold, not to challenge it. And in adult life, “normality” turns into a tight suit: elegant, but uncomfortable. You wear it so that they don’t ask, “What’s wrong with you?”, but inside you feel like you’re suffocating.

Society rewards conformity with applause, diplomas, and stable jobs. But what happens to those who don’t fit the mold? They are labeled as weirdos, dreamers, rebels. And yet, history is full of such “abnormals”: Tesla, who dreamed of free energy; Da Vinci, who designed flying machines in an age of horses and carriages; Verne, who imagined space travel when the world was just discovering the train.

These people were not “normal”. And that is precisely why they changed the world.

Being different is not easy. It is a road with sideways glances, with doubts, with nights when you wonder if it is worth it. But it is also a road with revelations, with freedom, with authenticity. Defying normality does not mean being against the world — it is being for yourself.

I believe that each of us has a spark that does not fit with the rest. An idea, a passion, a vision that does not fit. And maybe that spark is exactly what the world needs.

Normality is convenient. But convenience does not give birth to revolutions. If you feel like you don't fit in, maybe you're not flawed—just too alive for a world that prefers quiet.

My ex wife did not understand why I went up Germany's larges mountain. Why would someone do that? She even made jokes about this. But I'm proud of it and will never forget the experience. Same with other hiking tours or the hike down at the torrent de pareis. I loved it and will do similar things in the future. Doing things others don't want to do because it's not in the comfort zone is what makes you special. I would say similar aspects comes to crypto. Normal people don't invest in crypto (maybe now because of mainstream) have a node running. There are many other examples from different areas.
Stay !ALIVE and special!

Yep😊👍..you are right. Those who choose to step out of their comfort zone — whether they climb mountains, invest in crypto, or start their own business — are the ones who change the rules of the game. Normality doesn’t move the world. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
