When Crypto Goes Wrong: My Painful Mistakes in Splinterlands and P2P Transfers

There are some digital mistakes you will make in the crypto space that are always painful and you can't even hold anyone responsible except yourself, you can't even bite your little finger or cry. In this space, people used to say that when making any transaction, we need to be very careful and make sure we check the address and memo thoroughly because any fund lost can't be regained anymore. There is no way you will be in this space without one or two financial mistakes, I had two experiences, the first was on Splinterlands and it was really painful, the team introduced the card lock which helps to lock your cards for a period of time and that will prevent you from selling the cards you locked but somehow I neglected this feature and just kept playing the game. So one fateful night, I decided to just rent out my cards to earn some DEC token since I don't want to play the game for a few days.
I was clicking and renting the cards one by one and before I knew it, I was about to rent a card worth 100$ as at that time for just 10 DEC, I was distracted and didn't realize I was in the card selling section. Well I sold a 100$ card for 10$ and someone picked it up within seconds before I could cancel the transaction. The way I shouted "Yeee", that night ehn, checked out the buyer and figured out it was an automated account (bot). I couldn't cry because crying wouldn't bring back the card, I was just swearing for the account because to the owner, it would look like free juicy pick up which he could easily resell at a higher price. That day, I had to lock all my cards and even stop renting them for a long time before another story will occured.
I made another mistake one day also, it was on Sunday, and I was in church and needed to quickly run a p2p transaction with a friend of mine, I just alerted him that I need a certain amount of money and that it was kind of urgent, since he was someone I sold to all the time, I had his bep20 wallet address in our chat but had not pinned and I didn't even ask him for his address again since I could easily pick it from the chat but that fateful day, I didn't even know what went wrong, I forgot that he and I talked about some airdrop and the last wallet address he dropped was a token contract address, it just slipped my mind and I just scrolled our chat and picked up the first wallet address I saw. I sent the usdt to the address, took a screenshot it and sent to him, I didn't even check the chat for like 20mins but was waiting for the bank alert, since I didn't see any alert, I dm'd him to ask what was up and he said he didn't see any usdt, "you say what?" I saw my reply and he said I had sent it to the wrong address.
There is a way migraine will first hit you if you see that kind of message, I was like who sent me, why couldn't I wait until after the service so I can pay attention to what I was doing but somehow I was laughing silently, I scanned the contract address and saw my usdt sitting pretty in that wallet, I had to count it as a lost fund, asked my guy for his address and resent it. But, for that week, this guy was just ringing the loss in my ear and we just joked about it. Most times now, if i want to make a transaction, I can even sit and check the whole address to see if the characters are the same.

Now this is a stretch😄, but a very necessary one needed to avoided unwarranted blunders.
