The Indispensable Role of a Mentor

Till now people still underestimate the role of a mentor or should I just a financial mentor in the journey towards financial freedom, we do see this journey as a path one can take alone, that is how I do see it back in the days because I do view myself as a one man army kind of guy, i will rather do thing alone or my way than involving others or take advice. Even though it might look sweet, it really came with a lot of pain because I had to learn stuff from scratch which are always hard at times and not straight forward and to top it all, came with lot of mistakes that I would have avoid if there was someone guiding me. There was a trading course I got back in the days from one of the top crypto leader in my country, he was really making emphasis on the important of mentors in this crypto finance path but I didn't take it serious at first and I just focus on the course alone and at some point I was confused so I swallow the ego and decided to message him for proper direct explanation.
I see mentors as a light that show onto our path, walking along is like going through a new path while in darkness, there is no way you will be familiar with the way or see any pitfall along the way unless you have a light with you, in other cases, it is like the ocean which you can just set sail without knowing your way around which means you need help from people who have experience to sail through. To me, mentor have really reach some financial literacy stage where they now have some information and experience you might need and they are always willing to share or equip us with. There are various things I always look for in someone before classifying them as a mentor and seeing myself as a mentee. When it comes to Encouraging and Motivating, there are some phase in life that I do feel down, having doubt about what I want to venture into or some things I'm doing, most times I do rush back to either see my mentor physically or talk to them online and they are always helpful in either giving me solutions or helping me ease out my mind and like-wise encourage me. I almost got frustrated today while trying to figure out a crochet project, even after watching different kind of tutorial on it, the starting point look awkward and totally different from what the online tutor did, i had to cut away my first trial then redo another, I was at the point of giving up when my sister came around, saw what I did and was amazing I could reach that far, after hearing how hard it was for me to do the stuff, she had to encourage me not to give up that it will actually form and it did at the end.
Another aspect is about Accountability and Discipline, which is one of the reason why i do think we all need to have a mentor, there is no one we can be self discipline and still be accountable all by ourself, we might thing it is very easy to do until we start lagging behind in what we are doing. Having someone to account to help in speeding things and also focusing on the right track, there are little distraction here and there and to be frank, we humans are easily distracting especially when we pick up our phone, talking from experience, at times I will be deep into movies or tiktok and lost track of time which is really bad and do slow me down with stuff I'm suppose to do. The benefit of a mentor can not be overemphasis, they are literally the bridge between wandering around without a clear path or your ticket to clear path. Get one today if you haven't
