Breaking Character: When We Act Out of Line

Going out of character is someone I rarely do, I always love people to see me as the gentle, introvert guy that I use to be, this is more reason why I'm always picky when it come to friendship or always count myself out when it come to mingling with people, well some people saw it as pride or me been egocentric, most times you can say whatever you want I don't care. I remember back then in junior secondary school when I was somehow push in talking to someone, my two male friends know me so well, I rarely talk or what to have anything to do with the opposite gender and in the whole school I only have 3 friends, both of them (male) and a female friend who is one of the top student and that was because we had something in common (books) and tasking each other since we had to represent the school in competitions most of the time, it has been like that since js1 and now we were in the last phase (Js3).

So one day we received some new students and among them we had this set of twin, a boy and a girl who were friends with my female friend, since I rarely talk in school, one way or the other we and the male twin clicked easily and we started talking, we play around and all and at time if I give it a thought, I can't explain the connection, it went on for weeks while neglecting the female twin until my two male friend dared me to either make friend with the female twin and win certain amount of money or pay then 2x of the money if I can't do the task within a week. I know how they can be and I'm someone that won't accept defeat easily, somehow I want the money and it wont be a bad idea making a new female friend even though it was hard for me to do, I can't count how many times I practice how to say the word "hi, my name is ...... what is yours" and the one who where suppose to be my friend kept on make jest of me.

What Did I Do And The Final Outcome

Well I didn't do something nice 🤣, I acted stupidly but I think it worth it, I entered the class one day and I saw her running and I somehow cause her to stumble, she stood up, looked at me and snapped her finger at me, that day I knew I have offended the gods because she left immediately, I ran after her to apologise, sat her down, brought out my handkerchief and started wiping off the dust on her knees while trying to bribe her by getting her some break time snacks, she brought the idea and forgave me and as each day pass by we started talking because I had to keep asking her if she was ok and not hurt in any way. From there she joined our clique, my guys were surprised I could do the task because according to them they always price what to get with the 2x money they will receive from me, I just laugh and told them, nothing is impossible especially when there is a price tagged on it.
