RE: How to Improve Your Curation If You Have Low HIVE Power?

Great post! I just wrote a shorter post with similar thoughts, I am now wondering if I misunderstood Dust - I thiught it was 0.02 Hive rather than dollars.
Can you elaborate what you mean here?
Also, here's another tip: for a small account, it's better to share lower curation rewards with a few curators (preferably of similar size, not next to a whale vote) than to be one of the few hundred votes that will share a higher chunk of curation rewards for a popular post

Thanks. It's been a while since I wrote that. I'm curious: how did you find it? Search, my list of older posts, a link somewhere?
Well, I think it's neither. But it is what interfaces show as 0.02.
Maybe that wasn't the most fortunate wording. What I think I meant was that even if a post has higher rewards, if it is shared among many curators (many hundred toward a thousand and over), the chances of a very small curator to actually receive curation are very small. Their curation share might be below 0.001 HP, which rounds down to 0. Same if they use a low voting threshold and they don't have enough HP.
I found on Suseona, a new blog inferface that is in alpha currently.
I think the fractional rewards aggregate, as they are calculated on VESTs internally, but I need to research more on that.
Thanks again for the post, great insights, I had no clue about the curation rewards decreasing over time
Thanks. I didn't know about this new interface.
It's not even VESTs, before payout it's another temporary "token" that transforms into VESTs at payout.
I think you mean about voting power dropping as voting mana is consumed, since I talk about that in the post. That is because VP is calculated relative to the remaining VM, and, as VP drops, so does VM.
But there is another way curation is affected based on the time when you vote, and I don't talk about that here. If you vote on a post in the first 24h after its publishing, you receive 100% of the curation calculated for your account based on all the votes, thresholds, stakes of curators, etc. If you vote between 24h and 3 days you receive 1/2 of that curation amount. If you vote between 3 days and 6 and 1/2 days, you receive 1/8 of that curation, and if you vote after that, you don't receive any curation at all.
I see... I actually read you talking a little answering someone else, you are right about not being on the post, but it was what I was talking about.
So with the info I have, I am lead to believe that at least the fractional rewards of the same day are aggregated
Very insightful. Can you point me to where to read about how Hive is working in that regard? I never know where to search for the info
Unfortunately, more "official" information are pretty difficult to track down. They usually can be found in the series of posts published to describe changes before and after hard forks, since how inflation is distributed is a consensus change. These posts are often quite technical and most people don't read them attentively, if at all.
