Passing Faith To Our Children. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

Children are the heritage of the Lord. We are instructed by God to teach them the things that He has commanded us. We as parents are under obligation to teach our children the ways of God. God is the owner of the children; we are the caretakers. As caretakers, we have the assignment of taking care of the children. Part of the way that we will take care of the children is in training them in the way of the Lord. The way of the Lord is his commandments. Our duty as the parents and the caretakers is to teach them the commandments of God. We are to teach the Bible.

The strength of our faith in God is the Word of God. For our faith to be strengthened, we must understand and believe the word of God. The word of God is to our spirits what food is to our bodies. When we get good food into our bodies on a regular basis, we are strengthened and empowered spiritually. In the same vein, when we get the word of God into our spirit regularly, we are emboldened spiritually. When we talk about passing on our faith to our children, we are referring to teaching them the word of God.

Abraham did something that made God to recommend him. God said that He knew him that he will command his children to follow the commandments of God so that God will bring to pass all that He had promised Abraham. Let us equally follow the same step and command our children to follow the commandments of God so that the good promises of God over our lives will come to pass.
