X (Twitter) Growth - Week4 (Jan 22 - 28, 2024)

The past two weeks have been the most challenging in my X (Twitter) profile-building journey. My attempt to fine-tune my profile led to days of delayed review which also made the profile lose its blue tick and difficult to renew my premium subscription. It was so hard on me because renewing my INLEO subscription takes just a few seconds, so having to wait for 5 days to have my profile reviewed after a profile edit felt like years. Just do the maths yourself: 5 Seconds versus 5 days (432k seconds).

However, I found solace in the words of Frederick Douglass who said "if there is no struggle, there is no progress.” My post struggled to gain exposure due to how the X (Twitter) algorithm works. Glad that I finally got the profile reviewed. Renewing my X subscription then became another big thing. The initial process it used to follow failed and I had to look for an alternative. Thanks to @olujay for being helpful. Though the blue tick is yet to be back, the profile performance is getting better and I can access more X features.

The experience over the week made me appreciate web3 more. Definitely, until one has a aste of a true web3 model, you would never appreciate how much the upgrade is from web2. For Hive users, our transactions are pretty fast - 3 seconds. Our blockchain is permissionless, that is, there are no intermediaries to have transactions verified or authenticated. Everything happens almost instantly. This is a mirage in the web2 world.

Helping other social media users out there to come in and enjoy what we are enjoying in web3 is the sole reason for pushing hard to build a strong X profile because the audience is there. Over the last week, I was inspired to work harder since the enhancement from the algorithm could not be accessed. Maya Angelousaid "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” many do have great ideas but miss them with the complimenting actions. I just had to work harder to substitute for the boost I should have got with my money. I am glad it paid off.

My X profile registered a significant growth and improvement over the last week. See the stats below and upgrades in comparison with the previous week:

  • Impressions: 5,137 (108% from the previous week)
  • Engagement rate: 9% (20%)
  • Profile visits: 29 (53%)
  • Link clicks: 12 (1,100%)
  • New followers: 23 (53%)
  • Replies: 50 (127%)
  • Likes: 231 (178%)
  • Reposts: 26 (550%)
  • Video views: 0
  • Media views: 31 (343%)

Very significant in the above stats are the reposts and replies. I am glad that my posts over the week could trigger responses from other users in the form of reposts and replies. Moreover, almost all the users that visited my profile, gave me a follow.

My goal is formostly that of personal development, hence, fostering a growth mindset is a crucial first step. I have been committed to attending mor eX Space shows and the learning has been massive and they come with rewards. I won a big $100 from one of the space shows I attended sponsored by Hve blockchain.

I can say it was an incredible week adn I look forward to a better experience this week. Hopefully, the stats should double or tripple itself now that things are getting back on track.

Crazy Web 2 frustrations

  • I feel your frystration, but admire your determination to keep moving.
    It's unfortunate that we need to be active on web 2 to build web 3, but you have to advertise where the crowds are.

Woah. That's a lot of hassle that you have been through for this blue tick.

You know, I think we web3 users are like spoiled children now 😅
we are so used to permissionless transactions that we just vex when transactions take longer than 3 seconds.
But it's a good thing, and it gives us more reasons to appreciate Hive
