"When Enough is Too Much" - The Tale of a Friend's Ungauged Beer Consumption

It is widely agreed that too much of anything can become a problem, as such the admonition that everything be done in moderation. However, not everyone would want to take this noble advice. To them, everything is a competition even when it means risking all of what they've built over time. Below is a weekend experience that explains the above narration.

It was supposed to be a fun moment together with friends to cool-off the stress of the weekend with drinks and food. We had a sumptuously prepared rice menu but each person was at liberty to choose his drink. I do not drink alcohol, so I settled for wine while Tom (not his real name) settled for two bottles of Guinness Stout - an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness.

The alcoholic content of Guinness reportedly ranges from 4.1% to 4.3% ABV (by volume). That's a lower alcohol content than many of the other beers one can find around. In this part of the word, some persons mix Guinness Stout with fresh egg as a medication. I do not know what that cures. Perhaps because Guinness Stout reportedly also contains around 125 calories, which again is fewer than many other beers are packing in. Tom said he needs to take a bottle of Stout. I have not seen him drank beer before but I would have him to his choice.

I had a good sip of my grape wine while eating the well prepared fried rice. Midway our discussions, Tom had slept. It was already dusk but he probably would have to drive a few kilometers home. Just a glass of Guinness Stout had weakened Tom to nothing. He actually slept for about 30 minutes to the scorn of all the people around. Some made a jesting video of him (that was quite ridiculous). Glad I had let him enjoy his choice but not to his desired outcome, or may be because he had a forced nap after a workful week. Who knows if the rice we ate weren't a good match with the beer he took. I can't tell either because I'm not schooled in that area.

I stand on the ideal that we all understand when "When Enough is Too Much". I can remember reading the disclaimer Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health, strictly not for sale to persons under the age of 18 years.. However, there is no mention of the limit for "excessive". I know of some buddies that can finish three to Four bottles of that without troubles, bit for other, a sip is just too much for their system to bear.

While we all have our freedom of choice of food and drinks, there's need to drink in moderation and responsibly.

This is #beersaturday week and I would like to invite @inibless to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
