The Image Of God. My Review
Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Good created man in His image. We are the creatures which are the one carrying the image of God. All the creatures which God created, he created them in their unique ways. He created the animals according to the ways he designed them. But man was created in the image of God. Man was designed to be like God. In our character and in our passion, we were designed to look like God.
God is our father. This is true because we are carrying the image of God. We are made in the likeness of God. That means that we have God's DNA and God’s blood in us. We have the parental genes of God in us. So, we are the children of God. We are the seeds of God. We are the offsprings of God. This God is our father.
The likeness of God is not our two hands. It is not our two legs. The image of God in man is not the big head or the round face. The image of God is not our skin color. The image of God is not the color of our eyes. The image of God is not our physical appearance. It is not because of our outward look that we resemble God. We are not living like God because we talk with our mouth.
Our resemblance of God is in the nature and character that we have. We are created to be holy because God is a holy God. We should have righteousness in us because God is a righteous God. We should love because God is Love.
We are all created in the image and likeness of God and that is actually very important if you should ask me
