I Want To Do What Is Good. My Reviews

Romans 7:21-25 (KJV) I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

What the Apostle Paul experienced when he cried out in that Bible passage is a common thing to everyone. We always feel the resistance from our flesh; from the devil to do those things that are good. This is a common experience for everyone. Those who continue to do the wrong things are doing so because they are influenced by their flesh. The flesh wars against our spirit. It is with our spirit that we serve God. The Bible says that those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth. The flesh cannot please God.

The Bible has encouraged us to build up ourselves up on our most holy faith. When we build ourselves, it is our spirit that we are building. We strengthen our spiritual life through the Word of God, prayers and worship. As we keep doing that consistently, we become empowered to overcome the opposition from the world and the flesh. Then we will be able to obey the commandments of God. Our flesh has been intoxicated with the sinful Adamic nature that we inherited from our parents. It is that nature that is working on our members and hindering us from doing the will of God.

The Bible is the only thing that can help our lives as we are following God daily on earth. The Holy Spirit empowers us to overcome temptations and fleshly lust. It is the carnal pleasures of this world that makes us not be able to obey the commandments of God.
