That One Person I Will Never Forget — Forever Grateful

Hello great friends of Hive, happy weekend to you all and welcome to my blog.

It is no longer a debatable thing that virtually everyone has that one person or maybe people whom we can never forget not because they stayed but because they left their imprint on us; they left something that we could always look back and carry them forever in our hearts.

Personally, I have those people but for the sake of the prompt I would just talk about one of them. I remember my last semester in school, it was a tough one and at some point I would always ask myself if I could continue this.

They notified all students about when the school portal would be closing and I called my dad to remind him of my fees, he was eager to pay as he used to but last year things went south and it was difficult for us.

Of course I have other siblings that needs to be cared for and catered for too and many other responsibilities were piled up for him and I was even scared of how we would survive.

So when I called my dad, he told me that there was no money and sincerely, I knew there was no money and I was left with worries of not just my tuition but how I would buy my practical manuals, gloves, dissecting sets and other lab equipment which are very essential for a medical student. I was worried sick and I know my dad was equally very worried too, at that point, all we wanted was a miracle.

I had to do some menial jobs to just catch up with some money for at least the laboratory manuals and equipment which I was able to buy but was my school fees was left unpaid.

The following Sunday, when I went to church, after our church service, one of my church member called me outside and handed over seventy thousand naira to me and she told me that she wanted to support me in my fees and so she has been saving up, even though it was not up to a hundred thousand but I should please take the money and add to pay my fees.

Tears rolled down my cheeks, because I was surprised to my marrow. My fees were exactly seventy two thousand naira for that semester and she gave me seventy thousand which was very precise amount and she never knew anything about my fees in school.

Another thing that amazed me was the fact that, she didn’t really have so much, she is not rich, her husband was still in a critical condition but she gave out of the very little that she had. I felt so indebted to her till now.

It made me realize how much people believe in me and in my future, it made me realize that I need to step up, I need to work so hard to make it so I would also give and be of help to people who need it more.

That single act challenged my heart so much and till forever I would always remember that there were people who had sown into my life and I don’t need to let them down, I also have to do the same for others.

There are a lot of people that would forever remain dear in my heart and I hope to be there for them too just at the right moment.

Thank you all for stopping by, happy weekend dear friends.
I invite @joyben, @trizzy2 and @sylvasticks to join this prompt.
