Marriage Beyond Wedding Ceremony

I came across this week prompt with the topic

There are different kinds of marriages: traditional, court, and religious. Which one do you prefer?
Why do you prefer it? Do you think there is any advantage attached to it? Is it the marriage type that determines how the home will be, or is it the sole responsibility of the couple? If you are married, what is your advice to those who are still single and are planning to settle down regarding choosing the type of marriage?"
And I will be sharing my own opinion on this.

Of a truth there are divers kind of marriages and if we are being honest and sincere with ourselves traditional wedding is the main deal, marriage is culture and even though we have to do court marriages or religious marriages without traditional marriage then the marriage is not complete.

Some years back when the were no courts or religious organizations, cultural marriage was the main form of marriage then, where the parents of both couples would come together along with some family members, there would be exchange of vows and other marital rites, the bride would be handed over to the groom and celebration follows.

It was all so simple, nowadays most people even bring their pastors to bless their marriage at traditional weddings and they couples equally receive prayers and blessings from their parents as well. They dance and celebrate with their friends, family members and loved ones, what's more could one ask for in a wedding?

The truth is, most people do just traditional marriage while some go ahead to do court marriage, traditional marriage and religious marriage, I'm not against any of that but they spend so much to do all of the weddings and at the end their marriage would not even last for two months let alone a year.

So to me, if I were to choose either of the marriages, I would prefer a traditional wedding while I will have my pastor at the wedding too to bless our union. Personally, I believe traditional marriage is the foundation, marriage is deeply rooted in culture, and while court and religious marriages are important, they can not replace the significance of traditional marriage.

Secondly, I believe the type of marriage does not determine the home's success. Ultimately, it is the couple's responsibility to make their relationship work. I've seen couples who do all three and still struggle, while others who do just traditional marriages thrive, the marriage type does not at all determine how the home will be.

Wedding is just a mere celebration and an open declaration that one is legally married, the aftermath which is the marriage proper is the main game. It is the couple's daily efforts that will determine the success of their union.

For me, the key to a successful marriage lies in the couple's commitment, understanding, and love for each other, regardless of the type of marriage they choose. Effective communication between partners, mutual respect, and trust are play essential roles that can make any marriage work.

Lastly, the God factor should not be ruled out, God is the institutor of marriage and in Him alone can we find the true meaning and purpose of this sacred union.

This is my honest opinion about this week's prompt.
