Gown Goals: Turning An Ordinary Gown Into a Special One

Happy new week hive and @asean.hive community. My weekends is always busy, but it become more busier because we needed to look for a gown for Ria. Like last year she was invited to be one of princesses for the Flowers of May. But these time they asked if we can be more simplier by being an Ave Maria. It's a good rotation so the kids can experience the kinds of role.

"Ave Maria Sagala" refers to the traditional Santacruzan (or Flores de Mayo) festival held in the Philippines, a religious and cultural event that celebrates the Blessed Virgin Mary. "Ave Maria" translates to "Hail Mary" in Latin, referring to the salutation from the angel Gabriel to Mary, and "Sagala" is a Tagalog word meaning "celebration" or "festivity". The festival typically involves a procession with costumed participants, often representing biblical figures and Marian titles, and culminates in a reenactment of the search for the True Cross by Queen Helena.

Looks at the unfinished road that we need to passed everyday. It's bumpy and the worst when it rain it's so slippery and muddy. I've seen many minor accidents that fell off on this road. We all want the road to be finished because we deserve a safer place to travel.

We're now heading on the shop to canvas a gown. Last year Ria's gown was sponsored by her uncle but because Ria's cousin was confined in the hospital they didn't participate in the flowers of May for this year.

Honestly it was my first time to enter a gown rent shop. I saw the suits, I can't help but imagine my husband wearing that suit while his waiting for me in the aisle.

There are a lot of choices, but we need a white gown for the event. Saturday noon hubby's cousin already sent me the pictures of the white dresses. But hubby didn't want any of them. Yesterday the white dress was the only choice we had. Here's the fitting, looks awkward for the meantime. The sewer needs to make a lot of adjustment. Katsuki told me to look for another shop. But it looks like we'll experience the same consequences. The sewer also said that it's really hard to find a white gown. The advantage of having the same shop; we can both return and get the gown of the kids. These gown was already $18 for the rent and another $18 for the deposit. $18 will be refunded after we return the gown without any damage.

My daughter was really annoyed so we try to look for accessories on the near mall but sadly we didn't found anything. My sister-in-law also told Katsuki that the gown was a failure. But all in all we will try our best to make Ria's attired special. I'll be updating you about the accessories we hunt online.

What important is we'll be able to serve the mother Mary with all our hearts.

I used to attend Flowers of May when I was in elementary. It was one of my happy childhood memories as we looked forward to it every afternoon in our small community chapel. It seems that the white gown looks nice on her but the shoulder part needs a little adjustment to fit her better. Maybe it was just her initial reaction, but with accessories and light make up, she'll feel prettier and more comfortable.
