Dried Squid In My Simple Recipe
Happy weekend @asean.hive family, to tell you the truth I'm not really happy but I'm trying too. Let's talk about food and cooking. When your stress you probably just wanted to eat and eat do you? Well I eat three to four times. I remember when I was kid, some of our good stuff comes from Davao, Mindanao, Philippines we often have Pomelo. After I had a family on my own I crave for its natural taste. Fruit vendors sell dried pomelo very different from the taste I grew with. But my cravings was turn to amazement when I tasted some dried fish form their nation. Not there's to be precise but it came from his brother's wife. From Gensan, Mindanao
I'm not fan of a dried fishes for me it's the processes of losing the fish taste. But this one's different because it's freshly dried from it's own saltiness from the salt water. Except from frying it on it's own, then I saw how hubby cooks its on a dish. I learn and tried my luck if I can copy his recipe.
Ingredients
- Garlic
- Onion
- Tomatoes
- Oyster sauce
- Soy sauce
- Cooking oil
- Seasoning
- Half Cabbage
- 1/2 cup of water
- Dried squid
Procedure
Wash and cut the ingredients needed. Heat a pan and put oil, slightly fry the squid and saute the garlic, onion, tomatoes. Add the cabbage, oyster sauce, soy sauce, seasoning and water. My husband wants it half cooked but I prefer it well done LoL 😅. You're all done taste and adjust according to taste. You'll taste the squid on the dish. I swear it's delicious.
Finished Product
The first image is also cooked in the same process but instead of cabbage we used freshly pick kang-kong leaves. While on the second it's just a plain fried squid. It's a bit chewy, but really tasty, then he'll made vinegar with onion, garlic and a little fish sauce. In the end, we'll race to drink the dipping sauce.
While hubby bought fish to his friend. As a bonus here's a very big fish for us. My husband's net was always borrowed by his elder brother and in the end he'll just wrecked it. A fish net cost a lot of money. Hubby's endure all of it. So in the end we have nothing to used. But a fresh fish is very juicy.
