Speaking as a trained technician. Wiring or Electrical work as pay say is not just about joining wires. Little problems can be fixed with common sense and observation liken you said. But there are some times you may need an Electrician or technician. If you love Electrical work, then pay and learn it properly. You've improved drastically learning all by your self. It might be better you learn it properly.
