The most beautiful sin of all: drawing Ban ❤️ from Seven Deadly Sins

Greetings to all ✨🤗 I hope you are all doing well, on this occasion I want to share with you this drawing I made of Ban, a character from the anime Nanatsu No Taiza, I hope you enjoy it 🌻.

Saludos a todos ✨🤗 espero se encuentren muy bien, en esta línea ocasión quiero compartirles este dibujo que hice de Ban, un personaje del anime Nanatsu No Taiza espero lo disfruten 🌻.

Ban is one of my favorite characters from this anime, since I saw the anime I fell in love with him 😍😍😍🤭 (my guilty pleasure is him) so after having left drawing for a few long months, I decided to take it up again with this iconic character, taking advantage of the fact that I bought new stationery and wanted to try out the colors and fountain pens. I started by making the main sketch with a graphite pencil and making the softest strokes I could.

Ban es uno de mis personajes favoritos de este anime, desde que vi el animé me enamore de el 😍😍😍🤭 ( mi gusto culposo es el ) así que después de haber dejado el dibujo por unos largos meses, decidí volver a retomarlo con este icónico personaje, aprovechando que compré papelería nueva y quería estrenar los colores y estilográfos. Comencé haciendo el boceto principal con lápiz de grafito y haciendo los trazos más suaves qué podía.

Here I started to do the hair, eyes and so on, also with soft strokes and doing all the details in pencil first and then moving on to the lettering so as not to make mistakes (it has happened to me before). It was a bit difficult for me to do the shape of the face in that direction, as well as the distribution of the features on the face, as well as the movement and fall of the hair, but it was achieved.

Ya aquí empiece a hacer el cabello, los ojos y demás, igual con trazos suaves y haciendo todos los detalles a lápiz primero para después pasar al rotulado no equivocarme ( ya me ha pasado anteriores veces) me costó algo hacer la forma del rostro en esa dirección al igual que la distribución yo de las facciones en la cara al igual que el movimiento y caída del cabello, pero se logró.

I started with the second layer of details and correction of errors in the drawing, I wanted to frame the features and the movement of the hair more, something that was quite difficult for me was the smile (I am not very skillful with my hands or smiles) I loved how the shape of the eyes turned out 🤭 it was already taking shape and I was more excited.

Empecé con la segunda capa de detalles y corrección de errores en el dibujo, quería enmarcar más las facciones y el movimiento del cabello, algo que si me costó bastante fue la sonrisa ( no soy muy diestra con las manos ni las sonrisas ) ame como me quedó la forma de los ojos 🤭 estaba tomando forma ya y yo mas emocionada.

The lettering is the most complicated part for me, since I don't have a strong pulse and any bad stroke can ruin the drawing, so I decided to do two layers of lettering, the first one freehand (all smooth) and the second one doing the details, like the wider lines, some details and half shadows in lettering and so on. I let the ink dry and started to erase carefully quite well, until I had a clean drawing to move on to color.

El rotulado es la parte más complicada para mí, ya que no tengo mucho pulso y cualquier mal trazo puede arruinar el dibujo así que decidí hacer dos capas de rotulado, la primera a pulso de militar (todo corrida) y la segunda haciendo los detalles, que si las líneas más anchas, algunos detalles y medio sombras en rotulado y así, deje que secara la tinta y empecé a borrar con cuidado bastante bien, hasta dejar el dibujo limpio para pasar al color.

I usually start by coloring the hair and face, I do it in sections so I can do various things with shadows, highlights and details to each part of the drawing, so in this one I started with the shadow of the hair, with a dark blue color I defined each shadow and with the combination of light and dark blue I painted in layers until they were integrated.

Generalmente empiezo por colorear el cabello y la cara, lo hago por secciones para poder realizar varias cosas de sombras, iluminaciones y detalles a cada parte del dibujo, así que en este empecé con la sombra del cabello, con un color azul oscuro defini cada sombra y con la combinación de azul claro y oscuro fui pintando por capaz hasta integrarlos.

After several layers in the hair (I still had some left), I re-labeled the eyes and gave them the depth of Ban's vision 🤭🤭🤭 and the details of the face in lettering (that's when my pulse wouldn't fail me).

Después de varias capas en el cabello ( todavía me faltaban), volví a rotular los ojos y darles la profundidad de la vista de Ban 🤭🤭🤭 y los detalles de la cara en rotulado ( ahí si no me tenía que fallar el pulso).

For the eyes I first did the lighting, then I moved on to the corners to apply the black color and carefully blend it with a cotton ball, then with the dark red color I integrated it into the black and made the eye shadow, I applied the red color all over the eye and integrated a red-orange color to what I had done before to give it a play of tonality, highlight the lighting and make the eye shadow with gray apart from blending it well.

A los ojos primero les hice la iluminación para pasar a las esquina a pasar el color negro y difuminarlo con cuidado con un algodón, después con el color rojo oscuro integrarlo al negro y hacer la sombra del ojo, pasar el color rojo por todo el ojo e integrar un color rojo naranja a lo antes ya hecho para darle un juego de tonalidad, remarcar la iluminación y hacer la sombra del ojo con gris a parte de difuminarlo bien.

In this last phase, I retouched and did the same process as before, except I strengthened the eyeshadow with a marker and applied the final touches. The coloring process was quite arduous; I mostly focus too much on that step of the drawings and forget to take photos of each step. 😅😭 My apologies for that.

En esta última fase lo que hice fue retocar y hacer el mismo proceso que antes, solo que la sombra del ojo se fortaleció con un marcador y aplique los últimos detalles. El proceso de coloreado fue bastante ardió, mayoritariamente me concentro mucho en ese paso de los dibujos y se me olvida tomar foto de cada paso 😅😭 una disculpa por eso.

And after many layers of color, shading and lighting.... This is how it turned out 🤩🤩🤩🤩
