The gift of friendship🎊

Hello hive, it’s been a long time after my introduction post.
So many things have happened in the last few weeks and I’ll be writing on a few of those occasions.
In my introductory post, I mentioned I’m a baker and I baked something recently.

My friend’s birthday was yesterday and I was cracking my head thinking of what to get her and I said to myself you can make pastries so why not just bake a little something for her. Instead of buying pastries from an eatery, making it with lots of love at home is better and easier.

Quick story of my friend whose name is Mary. We met way back in secondary school and as a shy girl i never really spoke to anyone in my class. Funny how it was just a mini conversation of ‘hey do you have an extra note pad to spare’? that made us so close and now she’s one of my closest friends. The difference between us is that she’s an extrovert, very much outgoing and i’m the opposite. I’m more reserved and quiet and I don’t like crowd.
We had a lot of plans together after finishing secondary school, even as far as wanting to go to the same University but I ended up going to another University which was very sad.

Gifting each other occasionally has always been a tradition in our friendship, it’s more like our love language and birthdays are no jokes for us, it’s always the little things that matter you know😊

I love giving gifts to my close friends on their special day cause it’s more like appreciating them for sticking by you and supporting you through hard times cause you know a lot of people aren’t genuine these days so if you find one, appreciate them.

The pastries I made for her was a bento cake and I used the leftover mixture to make some cupcakes.

She loves sweets a lot so I made a buttercream icing and added one of her favorite biscuits by the sides for her
Initially I told her I was not going to be around for her birthday cause I was traveling, I did this because i wanted to surprise her with the cake.
Her sisters already had a birthday surprise planned out for her so I went over to her place with the cake alongside her sisters. Seeing me, she was so surprised. We laughed and hugged each other and had a great time for the rest of her day.

We took a lot of pictures together and recreated some old TikTok trends.
Backstory, we saw this old tiktok picture that was trending and we decided to recreate it. Everybody loved this particular picture on instagram.

I don’t have a lot of friends so the few ones I have, I try to appreciate them and go out of my way on their special day. A lot of friendships these days are not genuine, so when you find genuine ones, water and nurture them. It’s one way to keep it growing.
