Splinterlands Social Media Challenge | Becoming more Dangerous!

Add a heading.png

Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterlands!🙏

This is my entry to the Splinterlands social media challenge For this week's challenge, I have chosen a Standard: no modification ruleset based battle in which you will see how the position of all my cards and the presence of one correct card gives a tough fight to the enemy despite being less in numbers.

So, the total mana cap for this battle was only 25, including the summoner's mana cost as you all know.

Summonerdetails
I chose Tarsa a summoner of the Fire element whose mana cost was 4. This Summoner would provide +1 melee attack to 2 all friendly monsters and +1 health. She is really a great fire summoner especially when you have low mana cap.
Rule set (Standard: no modification)Meaning
As its name suggests, this ruleset made no modifications to the battle.

Monsters on the battlefield

1st position (Molten Ash Golem)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 6, this is a Range attack monster having Close Range Ability and 9 health. That's why I put it in first place so that it can attack and the second-position card also has some protection.

2nd position (Grum Flameblade)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 11 and its ability are Bloodlust, according to which it becomes more dangerous and gets +1 to all stats every time it defeats an opponent. Also, this monster has Void Armour Ability due to which magic attacks hit its armour before its health.

3rd position (Flame Mephit)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is only 2 and it has Flying ability which has 25% bonus chance of evading melee and ranged attacks from units who do not have the flying ability.

4th position (Xenith Archer)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is only 2, is a ranged attack card and it has no ability.

I created my team by using all my mana caps with these monsters.

Now I will take you to my battle!

First, let me tell you my strategy. According to the ruleset, there would be no modification in the battle. So from experience, I decided to make my team stronger but since mana cap was very low so I chose Tarsa as my summoner, she would provide +1 health and +1 melee attack to my monsters to stand strong. For this battle, I rented a new monster named Grum Flameblede and he is undoubtedly a great monster with 4 melee attacking powers which turned 5 with +1 from my summoner. With this, I was quite sure to build pressure on the opponent.

Round 1

This screenshot is just before the one-on-one battle started when all monsters got Summoner's powers, after which now it was the turn of the monsters to fight.

Round 1 (In between)

In the first round, As I thought my first-positioned monster would withstand the initial attacks and protect my second monster, it did exactly that and was knocked out by the end of the first round. However, this was a big blow to me as my team already had comparatively fewer monsters and now one of my two main monsters was no longer there. But the war had just begun and it was my turn to attack!

Round 1 (before it ends)

Here, as soon as it was my turn to attack, my second-position monster, which is now in the first-position, knocked out one of the opponent's monsters with a single attack because now it had the 5 melee attack power and with this, all its stats increased by +1 meaning next time when it attacks it takes 6 health of a monster. This is something really impressive!

Round 2

And as I was talking, this newly hired monster of mine took 6 health of the opponent in a single hit and knocked him out of the battle. Now my opponent had 4 and I had 3 monsters left and once again all its stats increased by +1 meaning the next time when it attacks it take 7 health of a monster. Exactly as its ability suggests it is becoming more dangerous as the battle goes on.

Round 3

Here you can see how my newly rented monster is becoming more dangerous every time it kills a monster. At the beginning of the third round itself, it destroyed the opponent's 7 health in one hit and eliminated him from the battle. Now we both had 3 monsters on the battlefield.

Round 4

To a large extent, everything in the battle happened as per my strategy and with every kill of a monster, my monster became more powerful and it became difficult for the opponent to survive its attacks. Now after this, there is not much left in the battle that I can show you. In the end, I won this battle.

Conclusion and what I learned!

After every few battles, I feel that the old lessons were not enough and there is still more to understand. Being greater in numbers may give you more opportunities to attack, but do your attacks have the power to have a deep impact on the opponent? Have you made a strategy about who to place in which position to completely avoid your opponent's attacks or to avoid certain of your monsters? There are a few questions like these that you need to ask yourself before a battle starts. Once you do that, you are ready to take on anyone in battle.

You can enjoy my entire battle here
