Betty sat quietly behind, all dressed for school. A few blocks down the street, Betty saw a lady taking a stroll with her dog, a few glances, and there was sadness in her eyes. Betty loves dogs and has always wanted to own one, but her mom has said no. Because she's allergic to dogs.

Looking from the rare view, Karen saw the expression on Betty's face and knew there was something she could do. She dropped her off at school, promising her a surprise when she gets back. Betty took a few stops at different shops until she got the perfect substitute, an artificial dog.

Betty was elated when she saw what her mom got for her, even though it's an artificial dog and not a real dog; it still made her happy.
