African meat pie

Hello friends it's nice having you here😊, it's weekend and felt like playing with flour so i tried meat pie for the first time and it came out well.

Here's the list of ingredients.
For filling

• 2 medium carrots
• 3 small potatoes
• Spring onion
• Pepper
• Garlic
• Meat
• Seasoning to taste

For the dough

• 360g of flour
  *180g of margarine
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tbsp of sugar
• Pinch of salt
• 1 egg( for egg wash)

I started by dicing my potatoes, carrots and spring onions and pounding my pepper roughly.

Couldn't use my blender to minced my meat to i parboiled and pounded it.

Went ahead to to put my pan on fire added a little oil, then my onion, then pepper, allow to simmer.

Proceeded to adding my meat, then potato,then carrota and spring onion respectively

Seasoned to my taste, added four mixed with water to serve as binder or thickner.

It should look like this after adding your thickner.

Cover to cook for about 10mins. Wen ready set aside and allow to cool down.

For the dough

Add your flour, sugar, baking powder and saltto your butter. Mix till it looks like crumbs

It should look this before adding cold water to it.

After adding water and kneading for 3 mins it should come out this way 👇

Cover with a cling film or nylon and keep in the fridge for 20mins helps to solidifys it more.

After 30-40 mins your filling should be cold. Bring out your dough cut and row on a clean surface. Place on your pie cutter and add your cold filling to it seal with egg mixture and close it.

Brush with egg wash and put in your preheated oven.

After 30 mins your meat pie is ready..
