The outdated homework culture

Education was very informal in the early days. People learnt everything by experiencing it themselves. Some travelled while some searched. They shared their learnings with others, and that’s how the learning mechanism started. With time, formal seminaries and universities started originating, attracting students from distant places. The students were taught through lectures and evoked curiosity in them. And in the last two centuries, education adopted a more evolved version, but in that evolution, the basic essence of learning faded. Today, the degree and certificate matter more than personal knowledge.

Consider the situation of a kid who cooks his mind for 6 hours in school attending lectures and noting down points, and then returns home not to relax but to study for another 6 hours to complete homework. I have led the same life, and now I see the kids carrying heavy bags from early morning to evening. Why will he not hate such a routine? Why will he not get annoyed at schools? He will surely lose interest because the schools will become a place for fatigue rather than learning. This is also the reason that the literacy ratio is increasing, but not education.

I do not understand the concept of homework. What is the purpose of writing things that are already written? Do you want them to remember lines or get the concept? The true meaning of school is a place that is meant to teach students. In the school, students go to learn things and if school leaves things kn stidents in the forn of homework kr assignments then schools and teachers are not fulfilling their duties.

Children must be taught everything at school. Homework is just a burden on them in the guise of critical thinking and subject matter. The teacher must teach the lesson in a way that students must take a grip on ot during the lecture. Question question-and-answer session should be promoted. The students must be encouraged to think critically about every topic. The day is not so long that 2/3 rd of its portions are spent on books only. Books are good only if they do not become a burden. When they become a burden, they dissuade people from them.

With AI innovation, the homework culture has become completely outdated. With personalized and specific education, AI has brought a very innovative methodology to learning. Now, still keeping up the old legacy of completing homework will not work. Instead, the students must be given exciting tasks that become a source of amusement and learning for them. Only a fresh mind can think critically, and the cramming mind just learn lines, not the lesson. So, according to my POV, there is a dire need to uproot homework culture. Kids must return from school without any burden on their bags.
