Should there be an age limit?

I grew up with a common saying i.e. “ Mobile phone us sucha wastage of time and kids must stay away from it” on the lips of people elder than me. For them it was just a source of fun and entertainment or communications and has none to do with learning . For kids it was considered almost a taboo to use mobile phones or to possess a personal mobile phone. Though there is improvement but sitution is almost same still.
The world has digitized. The 21st century is the century of the digital revolution and one who accepted this revolution has better chance kf surviving well in this highly competetive society. The digitisation has fastened the life. The trends and course of life have changed and have been modified into digital way rather than manual. To get accustomed to this change, it is inevitable to stay connected to it and happily accept its contours.
Usually, it is considered that mobile phones are just a waste of time. This is because we have never learned the positive use of it. Neither we learned its healthy use, nor did we teach anyone else. The problem does not lie in phones but in the mindset with which it is used. Talking about kids, phone is given to them as a reward for studying. So for them, it becomes the source of amusement they need after spending exhausting hours in studies. Resultingly, they use it for watching cartoons, scrolling social media, and gossiping nonsense with friends.
According to me there is no harm in letting mobile phones to children in early age. But they must be taught the healthy use of it. A curiousity must be arose in them that compels them to find new things in smartphones. They must be advised to see how fast tge world is remodelling.
Instead of guiding our kids to the healthy use of mobile phones.
The issues that may arise with owning mobile phones and social media accounts are psychological, physiological, and moral. Psychologically, the child may become obsessed with some fake glamour. Social media’s information culture can influence children’s minds. Physiologically, over-addiction can lead to health hazards especially affecting the minds and eyes of children. And morally, the obscenity and vulgarity that has spread across social media can destroy their morals and values.
Although there are many hazards associated with handing over mobiles to kids but still it is very essential to keep them updated to modern world. The need is to teach them positive and sound use of it . Instead of just an entertainment source, mobile phone should become a learning tool for them. There are many surveillance tools through which you can reconnoiter their activities.
