Politics, a powerbank

What is politics ? For me it is an art of manipulation. It is an act of galvanising people through harangue discourses. It is utilising the sentiments of people to reach governing places. It is an act of extracting out interests.

We all live in the world with politics at crescendo. It started back in ancient times to establish suzerainty and empires. It has played its role both in slavering the nations and unfettering the shackles of slavery. For some it is a dirty game and some claim it sacred and noble.

Currently,common myth is that politicians are criminals,cruels,corrupt and do not possess any commiserations for their populace. And that is only why people do not have any interest in politics and denunciate politicians.
In my country as well, for decades many came and showed green gardens to common man but on the end , leave tenure with excuses.

Politics in many part of world is based on following ideology: Propaganda,Vilification,Excuses and Sympathies.
Almost all the politicians use this ideology either to promote them or to demote their opponents.
Showing green garden and beautiful arenas in their manifesto, they lure the common man into their trap.

Modern politics is not even different than era of ancient of empires where ruler was the owner of masses. Now in the name of democracy nepotism prevails up. Dynastic politics is not different than imperial regimes.

Apart from nepotism, politics is business for many whales as well. Running an election campaign or supporting a specific party monetarily is like investment to them as they get 10x returns in the form of subsidies, contracts, debt absolution and by plundering state resources.

Moreover politicians use inappropriate and nefarious means to suppress any voice against them. Using vile measures, they destroy the lives of those who dare to speak up against them . Politicians are the lawmakers but they consider them and their families exempted from law. Those who elect them is not more than oppressed subject for them.

But meanwhile there are those as well who used political for the welfare of their people . They sacrificed themselves but didn’t compromised on integrity of their nation. They gave up their comfort for the good times of their people. History is full of such stances and personalities who used politics for the betterment of their people. Churchil, Nelson ,Gandhi, Muhammad ali jinnah are the prominent ones.

Have i ever joined politics?

I belong to a journalist family . Political discussion is common discourse in my family. We discuss about current affairs,assess the positive and negative outcomes of any strategy and project and analyse them according to our own perspectives. But beside being immersed in politics i am strictly prohibited from politics in my student life . I am allowed to see and analyse but i am mot allowed to join any political party or get involved in any political activity. Though my family possesses some political credibility but despite this there is strict embargo on me in getting involved in politics myself .

There are many political and linguistic organi in university. Student level organisations have some pros and cons. They may be healthy in grooming personalities and confidence of students. These organisations make way for competent speaker and intellectual leader. Bit in the same time such organisations are more prone to getting involved in terror activities as well. Using unity as force , they may spread oppression as well.

Will i ever join politics?

Politics in my country is game of money and big contacts . Politics in my country is assassinating the character of opponents. Politics in my country is being at life risk all the time . It is not easy to become part of such political system. You will have to compromise on your financial resources, your character integrity and your personal life and it is indeed an uphill battle task which demands alot of courage and resilience. Talking about me I don’t want my Hadhira to listen something bad about her father. I don’t wind my sons to face mockery from my opponents.

But in the same time i am enthusiastic enough to envisage progress of my country. I will not one who will miss that opportunity. Power toxication is very lethal but still i am optimistic enough to be candle of my own part. I believe that we should not wait for change from others. We should change ourselves. We should not wait for revolution. We must bring revolution by ourselves by our words and actions. So if i got the chance of getting involved in politics , i will not miss that. Yes this will bring hard time on me and my family but may be my sacrifice proves good for my nati and country.

What changes will i bring?

Every segment and every institute of my country is at completely dilapidation on this time. Some are not working proposals and some are working beyond their jurisdiction and legal limits. Corruption, grafting,nepotism and insouciance has dominated the public offices.Every segment is demanding rectification but the very first change that i will bring in will be in education.

Education is primary foundation of any nation. It is the first step towards progress. Education gives us awareness and freedom of thought. Education teaches us to differentiate between right and wrong. Education makes us to revolutionize the all segments of society.
I will try to modify education system in such a way that it produces qualified and competent students instead of inept degree holders. I will demolish numbering system giving way to assessment of students ti qualify those who actually deserve to be.
It is just lack of education that we support anyone without assessing his efforts. It is because of insufficient quality of education that we are unable to compete for rest of world.
Recently i met a Masters in chemistry who didn’t even know the definition of organic compounds. What’s the purpose of printing out that much degrees when your product becomes burden on you instead of utilizing their knowledge and education for the welfare of theur country.?

Secondly, i will try to improve the judicial system. A nation can survive withoud resources but it will not be able to breath without transparent and capable judiciary. Justice is pillar of the nation’s edifice which support the roof of moral, ethics and nobelity. An effective impartial and brave judiciary is guarantee to rule of law. Unlike the track record of Pakistan where judiciary has been the key tool to suppress opponents,i will strive hard to make judicial system free from governmental and political influence.

Thirdly i will like to modify the democratic mechanism . Instead of delivering harangue speeches in processions individually , i will craft the mechanism through which political opponents appear in live public debates, present their manifesto and plan to cope with problems. So that the public may assess their competence. Political parties are like dynasty where a family always rules . I have a wish to craft the system in such a way that a common person may become able to get enough position in any political party and seat in parliament. Only a common person can find solution to common issues.

My third desire seems bit impossible and it demands greater strategy to make it realistic. I wish if if get the chance of being at summit office,i may become able to find effective ways to do what i imagined of my country.
