Fame is easy to get,hard to keep

The relationship between fans and celebrities used to be very encouraging. Keeping a huge fan following though still is flexible but in the meantime, it is cumbersome and annoying for celebrities as well. Now the behavior of fans is very extreme. They do not care for the safety of celebrities and breach their privacy as well. The celebrity’s attitude has also changed. They used to consider their fand as their main asset. They used to be very affectionate towards them but today everything has changed.

Recently two incidents circulated on social media. One was of a female Bollywood actress whom a fan contacted for a selfie but later tried to kiss her by force to whom she resisted and her bodyguards repelled him.
Another incident was of a Pakistani cricketer to whom a female family contacted and misbehaved later when he refused to stay there for a longer time.

We often see people complaining about celebrities and their harsh behavior but they are completely justified because they are just trying to stop people from sneaking into their personal life and from harassing them. Don’t we do this? Why do we blame them or tarnish them if they rebuke any fan or keep them within their limits?

Fans' behaviour is changing drastically according to me. They consider celebrities as their personal property. This attitude makes their love for celebrities very toxic to them. Calling themselves fans, they start harassing celebrities physically and digitally. With the increasing influence of social media and ubiquitous cameras, the lives of celebrities have become less private. The fans know where they are and what they do and locate them very easily.

Fans should adopt a humble and loving way to approach their celebrities. They must also respect their family or private time. A fan admires his favorite personality not one who becomes a burden on them for their so-called flex but contrarily today, fans want celebrities to fulfill their every desire.

I am also a fan of many celebrities. I want to meet them, spend time with them, and know about them. But this is my longing. I must not impose this on them. Even if I get a chance to meet them, my encounter should be polite and humble. I must encourage their work rather than asking them for some stupid things or putting forward to them some nonsense demands.

Similarly, celebrities also need to understand that what makes them celebrities is not their work or achievements but their fans. Fans are those who exaggerate even small things about them and make them celebrities by bringing them into the limelight. Without fans, they will be ordinary artists then not celebrities. So instead of keeping arrogant and haughty behavior just because they have surpassed the zenith of fame, they must also adopt a very affectionate and caring attitude towards their fans.

We need to stop the differentiation and discrimination being produced in our society. The concept of bourgeosi and proletariat is again rising where the one who achieves some fame or spot, starts downgrading others and one who is deprived shows his envy by labeling it with fanship.
