Does your vote matter?
Political flame is igniting with full blaze here in Pakistan. Each day commences with alot of breaking news and ends up in making elections more dubious, skeptic and partial. Nớt only in Pakistan but the people of all the develooing countries are governed infact ruled by a set of few oligarchs and nepotists. For each term they lure common populace making new promises and envisaging them an arena of green pastures that never comes true.
Elections are scheduled on next month in Pakistan. Political parties and contestants are busy in running their campaigns ,rushing door to door to vow new pledges and ask for their thumb in return. Few non democratic hands are also busy in political engineering. Political victimisation has also made its place in this election as well as it always did in each election. Political horses are jumping from one place to another on the behest of stick.
Many pledges and promises are made in election campaigns. From small constituencies to whole country, contestants and parties swear to ameliorate the hardships of common man but after getting elected they probably forget what they have sweared on. Through their vigorous speeches, they deliver on their manifesto which depicts that they are fully buckled up to take their constituency/country to another planet where they will have ample resource .But when they get elected they start complaining of previous governments.
I am witnessing mixed type pf response among youth looking like they gave up on their country. Most of them don’t even want to cast their votes or become part of this electoral campaign. They are not wrong either as to whom should they cast vote ?? Those are ruling alternatively from last 40 years? Or those who they know that are not going to be elected by their vote but by cue of stick.
Corruption, grafting, nepotism , inappropriate use of power and favouritism have enrouted deep in our country. Sky high Inflation, crippling economy, unemployment, terrorism are political partiality are the key issues which are requiring prompt action to tackle them .Youth is urging to move abroad for better lifestyle and wide opportunities. And this is not just the story of Pakistan but natives of all the developing countries will relate it.
Previous regime commenced by setting hopes and expectations . They allured people of employment and houses and making country a model . Their manifestos was tamed with extraordinary projects but during their government they were just busy in complaining and fighting governments before them. This nation has tried all of its horses and have realised that there is no one here who is genuinely for them.
So what should the youth do? Sit idle? No interference in electoral process? Letting them craft the destiny of this country however they want???
Probably the answer must be no.
Yes they can’t just step directly in politics as unfortunately our political module is constructed in such a way that it favours dynastical and oligarch’s politics only . There is no room for common mam here instead of just placing thumb on ballot paper for themselves.
So what is duty assigned to you ? Just don’t bycott the electrol process . You should and will have to cast vote as if you don’t cast vote by yourself .Someone else is benefitted by it via rigging. Just go and place your thumb at suitable place.
How will you determine the suitable candidate? Answer to this lies in accounting them first for their liabilities and manifesto in respectful way. You l don’t have to aware yourself just but you must also spread awareness among people around you. Start from your constituency. Elect one whose discourse and manifesto is having more weightage rather than choosing one who is making hollow pledges. Elect who you think will serve your constituency more. Elect one whose party you think will play greater role in steering the country towards progress.
I am not gonna tell merits or demerits of any public party as it is totally on one’s own mindset but pick one whom you think the best. Just don’t consider the elections useless. Only way to discard non democratic role is by showing that now people of Pakistan has awakened. Now they know that their vote should matter. You must persuade your surroundings as well to come out and show larger turnout.

This is my request not just to people of Pakistan but all those who are disappointed by their governments and electoral process. If you think your vote doesn't matter then should strive to make it matter. As i have mentioned at many times that no one is going to come from outside to save. We will have to come out of this hard times by ourselves.
