Technically not, interactions are powered by resource credits based on your HP.
LP is for curating and status-showing.

You don't need to hold any $LEO or have LeoPower to earn LEO. When other people vote on your content on here it will earn LEO based on their LeoPower.
When you start earning LEO you can then power it up to start earning LEO when you vote on content too (this is not a requirement though)

Leo han be staked and used for curation on Hive engine but also can be staked for daily USDC rewards on arbitrum using the leodex interface.
