Bougainvillea glabra

Genus: Bougainvillea
Family : Nyctaginaceae
Scientific Name: Bougainvillea glabra

The paperflower, or Bougainvillea glabra, is a type of flowering plant that is indigenous to Brazil. It is so frequently grown as an ornamental vine because of its colorful, papery bracts that encircle tiny, white tubular flowers. In addition to pink, the bracts are also purple, red, orange, and white.

Characteristics:
Growth Habit: Woody, evergreen, fast-growing vine that can reach heights of 10–12 meters with its prickly branches.
Leaves: Dark green, simple, ovate to lance-shaped, smooth-textured leaves.
Flowers: Pollinator-attracting, tiny, white flowers encircled by vibrant bracts.
Blooming Season: In tropical regions, it blooms all year long, but it is most abundant during dry seasons.
Drought Tolerance: It is perfect for warm, arid climates because, once established, it is extremely resistant to drought.

Uses:
Ornamental Planting: Because it climbs, it is frequently used for walls, fences, pergolas, and hedges.
Soil stabilization on slopes is aided by erosion control.
Medical Uses: Traditionally, respiratory conditions have been treated with herbal medicine.
