WAS THE CHANGE NECESSARY?
I've pondered over the current situation of things in the country Nigeria, ranging from the cost of goods to the increased standard of living over forty percent of the country's population is living below the poverty line how tragic is that.
Nigeria is regarded one of the third world countries meaning, a country that is still in the process of development in all aspects, as well as the economic, social, political and environmental aspects.
Nigeria has one of the most sought after mineral resource in the world which is crude oil,but yes they still wallow in poverty, and Nigeria despite being the giant of mother Africa, we've been surpassed in advancement by other African countries.
The problem of Nigeria only grows by the minute, the political leaders and government of the country are tagged not up to the task, one of the unnecessary change made by the Nigerian government is the printing of new naira notes, the printing of new naira notes for the country was totally irrelevant and as at the time of the new notes, Nigeria was undergoing it's presidential election.
There were already serious problems in the country such as inflation, poverty, increased price of petrol and many others yet the leadership government of the country decided to print new naira notes as a way of moving forward, the government started what they couldn't finish and the Nigerian citizens still ended up using both the old and the new naira notes, was the change of the naira notes necessary?
Another unimportant decision made by the Nigerian government is the change of it's national anthem back to the former.
As if the national anthem was a problem of the nation, the government spent huge amount of money mending the national anthem, because it's a rigid Constitution that requires several processes to amend.
People are living below the poverty line, social vices have become the order of the day, more and more people are engaging in cyber crimes and cultism, the rate of stealing, rape and human slaughter is alarming, but instead of the government to look into these matters with immediate effect, they rather spend millions Changing and enacting laws and amending constitutions that have no negative effect on the citizens.
The main reason Nigeria is where they are at today is because of the leaders, the leaders get easily drunk with power once they assume office. An election not free and fair, won with thuggery and other social vices, the leaders trying to please their political godfathers end up putting the country in a mess.
Was the change of naira notes and national anthem necessary? I still believe with ambitious leaders, well groomed and patriotic leaders, the country Nigeria can still be better than it is now.
Thank you 😊❤️
Keep up the good work. 👏🎵
