"You are my son and will do only my bidding, you will study law and you will become a lawyer end of discussion" Larry's father said to him.
Larry's father always wanted his son Larry to be a lawyer, to follow in his foot steps as a lawyer, but Larry wanted to study music in school.
Larry had a melodious voice that when he sang you couldn't decipher if it was a man or a woman singing, Larry wanted to be an Afro artist he had his songs but wanted to study music in school, but his father "Mr Shola" threatened not to fund his university education "if you want to study music you can go ahead and study that music of yours but be rest assured, a dime of my money won't be a part of your fruitless plight" Mr Shola, Larry's father said.
Larry as motivated as he was and as passionate as he was for his music career, he decided to get a job fund his educational dreams. Larry started working with a newspaper company and managed to get himself into the university to study music with the little money he had gathered. Larry not once neither twice often went hungry to meet up with his academic demands as his father didn't want to be involved in a plight he tagged as a "fruitless one" eventually Mr Shola, Larry's father found out about the newspaper company his son Larry was working for, and due to the fact that Mr Shola was an influential personality, he got his own son fired from his job to make his choice of path harder for him, so as to leave him with no other choice than to run back to him.
Larry was so bittered and angry when he got to find out it was his father's deeds, but he was strong-willed that he didn't allow the whole thought of loosing his job get to him, rather he thought of the way forward. Larry's mother and relatives tried convincing him to give in to his father's demands so he can live a normal life again, but Larry declined.
Larry's life became so tough that he started singing for money, he sang in birthday celebrations, wedding ceremonies and lots of other gatherings. Larry would always pray to God to make life better and softer for him and believed in God so much.
Annually Larry's school had this concert promoting young talents, and talent scouters scout for young people with tremendous talent, pick them up and make their voices heard, fortunately Larry was opportuned to perform at this concert.
It was the day of the concert and the schools mega hall was packed out, it was time for Larry to perform and his performance left everyone in awe, and luckily for Larry he signed a music deal with a popular record label that sponsored his education till his final year while he made music.
Larry started making good music under the record label and he became so popular and rich, he was always known for his hit afro singles, his father Mr Shola had no other choice than to be proud of his son because his persistence and hard-working got him to where he was.
Larry remained grateful to God for uplifting him to new and greater heights and giving him the perfect life he always dreamt of.
